  1. I have, you will need X8SIL-F board v1.02 to go with the G6950.
  2. For your shares to be exported, you will need to click apply again to each share.
  3. The patch for this bug is now included in Samba 3.5.6.
  4. Tom, please consider applying this Samba patch. Ever since I upgraded to Windows 7, the foobar2000 media library indexing has been severely broken. It re-indexes the entire library every time instead of just applying the changes within the library. With my somewhat large music collection this can take ages. More info on this bug here and here.
  5. I prefer the classic hot plug style of the Norco, plus it has leds for each drive.
  6. I have a Lian Li PC-A16B and went for 3 of the Norco ones from XCase. In my opinion they are much better and cost only a little more than the EX-H34.
  7. I measured power consumption with a Kill a Watt. At idle with all drives spun down it was at 48W. This is with a G6950 CPU, 550W 80+ Corsair PSU, IPMI enabled and a AOC-SASLP-MV8 card.
  8. I have this board and am running it with a single 2GB UDIMM in slot DIMM1A. Brand? Model? Link? Micron MT18JSF25672AY from eBay. It was on Supermicro's tested memory list. Interesting. It refused one stick of my Crucial memory. Did you get the long beep at all? No long beep. Did you use slot DIMM1A as it states in the manual? Also what revision is your board? Mine is 1.02.

  11. Are these the same as those being sold at xcase.co.uk? http://www.xcase.co.uk/hotswap-stoarge-kit-p/hddkit-xx-500.htm http://www.xcase.co.uk/v/vspfiles/templates/48/images/fitted1.jpg
  12. I also get the "Access is denied." message. Jim, did you get this to work?
  13. To shutdown unRAID from a shortcut(without using a web browser), I used Telnet Scripting Tool. If its not available from the above link Google it. The shortcut is: TST10.exe /r:script.txt where the contents of script.txt are: 192.168.1.6 23 WAIT "login:" SEND "root\m" WAIT ":~#" SEND "stop\m" WAIT "cmdResult=ok" SEND "poweroff\m" WAIT "Broadcast message from root" Replace 192.168.1.6 with the IP of your unRAID server. I hope this is of use to someone.
