    As mentioned, be carefull with this cheap Controllers. If unraid is doing "importand" things, use qualified controllers or HBAs 👍

    Da solltest dann auf iGPU-Transcoding (HW) setzen - dazu brauchst aber den PlexPass.

    Is it possible to mirror the syslog to an unassigned device? Would be better then the "weak" USB-Flash... I've been wondering for years why you can't move/mirror the syslogs to an SSD... The USB drive is a very bad choice...

    I cant recommend this cards because the cheap ones are old and used. I would use 2x TP-Link TX401 and a propper cable. This card is similar to the Asus XG-C100C what i use but with a WOL-function. The Asus 10GBit-NIC is working since Oct.2019 without issues.

    If so, for what purpos is the switch? You can directly link both machines with additional 10GBit-NICs and done 👍

    Hmmm? 🤔 Wieso? Den kann man im BIOS auch so einstellen, dass er nur sehr wenig Energie benötigt. Mein i7 läuft mit 45W - das reicht vollkommen aus. Trotzdem hab ich 8 Kerne zur Verfügung, falls ich die mal benötige...

    That's a normal behavior - i have this with my IPFire router since years 👍 This does not affect accessibility from outside.

    Wie schon erwähnt... stromsparen mit "der" CPU wird nichts werden...

    Nochwas: Asus und Gigabyte sind solche "Patienten", die gerne an allen Ecken und Enden sparen - da kommt sowas auf fast jedem Board vor 👍

    Das solltest aber "vor "einem Neukauf klären - billige Boards sind da meist echt Schrott, weil die alles irgendwie miteinander "teilen" 🤣

    Weil etliche Controller kein TRIMM für die SSDs unterstützen. Mein HBA kann das auch nicht - daher SSDs (wenn SATA) nur ans Mainboard anschließen 👍 Bei mir laufen allerdings keinen SATA-SSDs mehr, da zu langsam.

    Jo - 5 gehen, beim sechsten wird's dann schon a bissl zäh, geht aber noch. Normal laufen aber max. zwei... da langweilt sich die iGPU... Das sind alles 4K Videos, die auf 1080p/8Mbit transcodiert werden.

    HDR Tone Mapping ist bei mir aktiv (schon immer), weil sonst hab ich am Fernseher im Schlafzimmer nur Braun/Grüne Filme, wenn die von 4K auf 1080p transcodiert werden. Das ist auch der Grund, warum ich transcodieren muß... der TV kann kein HDR - sonst könnte ich die 4K-Filme direkt streamen.

    Nicht vergessen: Da muß ein PlexPass her, sonst wird das nichts mit der iGPU 👍

    1) Für Plex brauchst keinen ECC-RAM. 2) Ein i3-12100 würde da auch reichen, würde aber mind. einen i5 empfehlen... Selbst mein alter 9700 schafft 5-6x 4K- Streams im transcoding... da arbeitet (fast) nur die iGPU...
