  1. I don't have my original 4.5.4 flash drive. I created the 7.2.0 flash drive using unraid-usb-creator-1.1.0.exe. I didn't copy any other files to it. I initially created a 4.7 flash drive using unRAID+Server+4.7+AiO.zip that I had on my laptop - don't know when I downloaded it. I think the problem is that the server isn't using either flash drive to boot from. I can boot to the 4.5.4 instance without inserting any flash drives. I have 6 hard drives in the server - the parity drive and 5 data drives. I'm not sure what drive the server can be booting from. The label on the server is Lime Tech. I'm not aware of any internal storage where the boot files could be stored, but maybe there is. Maybe what I really need is assistance on the hardware side.
  2. Thanks for the reply. I think I'm going to have to go the paid support route. I don't see super.dat on the flash drive at all, or anything related to the key. I made a 7.2.0 flash drive, but when I tried to boot with it the server still booted to 4.5.4. I took the flash drive out and booted without one at all and it still booted to 4.5.4. I have no idea how that could happen. Thanks again for the help.
  3. Thank you. Can you explain how to restore the key and super.dat? I created a 7.2.0 USB drive using the tool. When I boot with it and access tower.local from my laptop I'm still getting the same 4.5.4 configuration screen.
  4. Thanks for the help. I was able to reinstall 4.7 but am having issues, so I'm trying to upgrade. Have another post on that. Thank you.
  5. I have an unRAID sever that I haven't used in over 10 years. I am now trying to get the files off of the drives, but no longer have the USB boot disk. Sounded like the best way to go was to reinstall unRAID. I still have a printout of my drive configuration settings and it says that I was using version 4.5.4. In my archives I had a setup package for version 4.7, so I created a new USB disk using that. The server still has my license and config info. Using the configuration printout, I was able to get my drives in the correct slots and was able to pull up the configuration screen on my Windows 11 laptop. Curious that the version still says 4.5.4. My shares were still there as well. Problem is that I can't access the server via Windows Explorer. I can access the server config using //tower.local and the IP address, but the server or shares don't show in Explorer when I try to browse the network. All of the help docs that I see refer to newer versions of unRAID. How can I upgrade to a newer version that is still compatible with 4.5.4? Thank you.
  6. Thank you - I will try that. Is there any way that the drives can be read from Windows using a USB hard drive connector?
  7. I had an unRaid server over 10 years ago. Looks like it was version 4.5.4. The server had the OS on a USB drive, which I no longer have. All I want to do at this point is to get the data off of the drives. Is there any easy way to do this? I'm happy to upgrade to the latest version, but I don't think the drives in my server are in the same order they were way back then. Any help would be greatly appreciated! TIA - Mike
