Want to access UnRaid storage (ISOs) from Proxmox
I've been using my UnRaid server for over 2 years. I need to upgrade RAM but prices are crazy. Have a spare HP Xeon workstation with 32G RAM that I am going to use to build some virtual machines. Plenty of storage in the UnRaid, along with all my ISO's. I can access UnRaid shares from my Windows & Linux computers. I'd like to access my ISO's from the Proxmox machine. Been over Proxmox & UnRaid forums, YT videos, etc. Can create an NFS share from Proxmox to UnRaid and it does connect because the available & used space of the share in Proxmox corresponds w/the share on UnRaid. Does it take a while to make the ISOs available on Proxmox? From what I read it s/b fairly instant. When I go to create a new VM there are no files available to install from?

[Support] Partition Pixel - Chia
Have a computer dedicated as Farmer & Harvester. Would like to move it to my Unraid server. Based on this comment am I better off virtualizing the entire machine to Unraid get this Harvester processed virtualized & add the Farmer to an existing VM? Will need some help getting the Chia-Docker up and running but that's only if it's worth standing up as it's own machine.

how do I reset the windows password of a vm on my unraid installation?
The key to this is getting the storage driver located and loaded so I can see the drive from the cmd prompt, access the Windows folder, and follow the well documented process for changing the password.

Device error when booting - how find device
Would still like to know how to find that device. Since it's a single device throwing the error I'd like to proactively replace it. Then there's the Log file issue......

Many thanks. Hope you get a big enough cut from the new licensing structure.

Device error when booting - how find device
I've had this happen before but have been able to determine device and replace it. Getting these errors scrolling during boot: Sep 16 18:13:15 Unraid001 kernel: pcieport 0000:01:00.0: [ 0] RxErr Sep 16 18:13:15 Unraid001 kernel: pcieport 0000:00:01.0: AER: Multiple Corrected error message received from 0000:01:00.0 Sep 16 18:13:15 Unraid001 kernel: pcieport 0000:01:00.0: PCIe Bus Error: severity=Corrected, type=Physical Layer, (Receiver ID) Sep 16 18:13:15 Unraid001 kernel: pcieport 0000:01:00.0: device [10b5:8724] error status/mask=00000001/0000a000 Sep 16 18:13:15 Unraid001 kernel: pcieport 0000:01:00.0: [ 0] RxErr Sep 16 18:13:15 Unraid001 kernel: pcieport 0000:00:01.0: AER: Multiple Corrected error message received from 0000:01:00.0 Sep 16 18:13:15 Unraid001 kernel: pcieport 0000:01:00.0: PCIe Bus Error: severity=Corrected, type=Physical Layer, (Receiver ID) Sep 16 18:13:15 Unraid001 kernel: pcieport 0000:01:00.0: device [10b5:8724] error status/mask=00000001/0000a000 Sep 16 18:13:15 Unraid001 kernel: pcieport 0000:01:00.0: [ 0] RxErr Sep 16 18:13:15 Unraid001 kernel: pcieport 0000:00:01.0: AER: Multiple Corrected error message received from 0000:01:00.0 Sep 16 18:13:15 Unraid001 kernel: pcieport 0000:01:00.0: PCIe Bus Error: severity=Corrected, type=Physical Layer, (Receiver ID) Sep 16 18:13:15 Unraid001 kernel: pcieport 0000:01:00.0: device [10b5:8724] error status/mask=00000001/0000a000 Log fills up and fills up usb drive, but I'll rant about that later. It's the only device throwing an error. I've looked through the dashboard and find nothing corresponding to the device. All drives come up as healthy. Once it's booted 1 cpu core keeps running at 90+ % and the Log shows 100%. Machine will stay running. Once I Start the Array the 'clock is ticking'. After about 5mins the machine freezes. Was thinking it's hardware (MB, CPU, RAM, etc.), which is all about 6 months old, but the fact that it stays running prior to starting the array tells me it's a drive. I've seen this before and I believe the freezing is because the CPU is having too much fun writing these errors, until it runs out of space. Unsure if I should enter this under new features but there has got to be a better way to manage the Log file. Have been researching over the last few months, on and off, and quite a few have similar issues with cleaning/deleting/truncating , etc. There has to be a better way. Then again we still have to manually clear cookies & cache. Thanks in advance.

Questions about setting up SSD cache
Thanks for the suggestions here. I've been watching many videos and reading the Unraid manual in detail for the last 30+ days. My system has been working great as a storage device but I now want to expand to it's fullest potential. Updated the guts to an updated MB, CPU, & RAM. Looking to migrate some of my Windows & Linux machines to this virtual environment. Trying to properly place pools, 'cache', etc. but hitting bottlenecks. May start a different thread but this one seemed to touch on some of my issues. Any great pointers to architecture, design, functionality documentation would be mighty helpful. Chances are I've seem them but will watch again and again until it sinks in. Thank you.

Things I learned about the Seagate Exos drives and how to fix them if you encounter random shutdowns or read errors
I bought 6 of these about 2 months ago. None of the problems you've experienced. I have them connected to an LSI 9211-8i. Thanks for the heads up though. I've been through some of the troubleshooting you did and appreciate you posting here.

Move existing Unraid to a new computer
Looking for insight on what to be prepared for when moving my Unraid from an older 4cpu AMD/ASUS computer to something a little more modern. All drives are attached via native SATA, no RAID cards. Should this just plug and play? Thanks.

Solved: 20TB SAS drives not supported in Unraid
Looking at some less expensive 4kN hdds myself and came across this: https://techmikeny.com/blogs/techtalk/compatibility-pain-points-4kn-hard-drives-and-backwards-compatibility-with-raid-controllers#:~:text=4Kn hard drives (4K %3D 4096,be used for your data. Of particular note is this statement: "This post will give some background on 4Kn sectored drives and some compatibility issues with Dell and HP RAID controllers that are not compatible with 4Kn hard drives." Given your Broadcom/LSI is likely considered a RAID controller, (my experience with this brand), is possibly your incompatibility with the 4KN hdds. My research and your experience are good reason I will not be purchasing these hdds.
