  1. Thank you @JorgeB and @itimpi I ran the correction and it corrected all the errors. I then ran another parity check and it found 0 errors. I don't know why this happened, either something messed up during the parity swap, or it was turbo write, as those were the only things I changed before the errors started. But everything is back to normal now!
  2. just updating my progress so far... The first parity check finished. I have attached the diagnostics file after the first check. As you can see it has found a lot of errors. No errors found beyond 10TB which is to be expected since the largest disk in the array is 10TB. Correction is now in progress. I noticed that its only writing to one of the parity drives and not both. Is this expected, or was only 1 of the drives out of sync? beforeCorrection-wandertower-diagnostics-20250110-0551.zip
  3. quick update... I am not sure if I am understanding this correctly. But the errors are still growing passed the 4TB mark. As you can see the 4, 4TB drives are no longer active. Does this rule out the HBA card, as errors are still growing passed the 4TB drives that are connected to that card?
  4. Sorry about the mover, I was having issues a few months ago and forgot to turn the logging off. It is now off. I finished multiple passes of memtest, and all tests passed with 0 errors. I also ran smart tests on all drives and they passed. I have attached another diagnostics file. Parity check is still running. As you can see, there are a LOT of errors. The 4, 4TB drives are on a Supermicro AOC-S3008L-L8E 12Gbps SAS-3 HBA P16 IT mode for unRAID , purchased from art of server. I am not sure if this is causing the issue. I have no idea on how to check. I can provide another diagnostics file once the parity check is finished if that helps. The suggestion currently is to run a correction parity check, and then again without the correction and hope there are no errors. My question is, can the parity even be trusted after correction at this point? and how could something like this happen out of the blue? Also, from my understanding, parity check simply checks if the parity drive is accurate based on the array. This doesn't necessarily indicate file corruption, but more so something went wrong and the parity is wrong? thank you wandertower-diagnostics-20250108-2251.zip
  5. No, the server is also connected to a UPS. The only shutdown there was, when installing the new drives and lsi card back in Dec, which was clean.
  6. Hello everyone, I'm new to Unraid and servers in general, and my system has been working good until recently. During a routine parity check, I have experienced just over 6Million sync errors within in the first 10% of the check. I did recently update my 2 parity drives, and moved 4 disks to a LSI card early Dec. I precleared the parity disks twice and then when adding it to the array it precleared again and rebuilt the parity. I also did a scan after installing the lsi card and all the drives and everything was fine. I did smart tests on all the drives and they all passed, and did a memtest which also passed. I have attached 2 diagnostic files, first one from last night when the array was running, and another this morning when the array was stopped. Any help as to why this is happening, and how it can be fixed would be greatly appreciated. Thank you wandertower-diagnostics-20250108-1251.zip wandertower-diagnostics-20250107-2243.zip
  7. By any chance were you able to figure this out? Getting the same issue on my end.
  8. Thank you so much! Sorry, I am still new to Unraid and was unaware that is what happened and thought it was a gpu_top issue. I totally forgot there was a gpu stat plugin. Thank you for such a quick reply and easy fix!
  9. Hello, I have a noob issue. I updated Unraid to 6.12.2, and now the igpu stats/dashboard are missing. I have a intel 12600k and all the stats for the processor are showing fine, but the igpu stats are missing from the dashboard. I ran intel_gpu_top in terminal, and I tested a transcode on plex, and everything is working fine, just the gui element, and the stats are missing. Did I forget to turn something on?
  10. Resilio sync might be what you want. I played with it briefly trying to figure out a backup solution, and noticed it had a sharing option.
  11. Wow so quick, such a great community! Thank you both for your responses! I'll definitely look into Resilio Sync for mobile devices. I will also look into Macrium Reflect, thank you for the suggestion. I have setup up windows file history, but am experiencing so many issues with it. First it completely bogs down the laptop while tryin to set it up. It copies files that I have said not to. Its very limited in what it can do, and requires the parent folder not be excluded, even though there are other folders you don't want. Its very tedious to setup and you have to be very granular and exclude everything you don't want, rather than just saying, "copy only this". There seems to be a $OF folder created, where half my files are randomly stored in thousands of folders. This seems to be a "overflow" folder designed to combat long names. The app crashes when trying to clean up old backups, and the minimum logs it does generate seem to be useless. Just seems overall a hassle and unreliable to use. I will definitely try those other two apps out, but if you or anyone else has any other suggestions, I am all ears.
  12. Hello, Firstly I want to say I am new to Unraid, and the whole server space, and every thing that goes with it, so thank you for help and patience. I have read many forum posts, documentations, and cant seem to find the solution. I am trying to build a "backup" solution, which is actually more so an archive solution that behaves like a backup solution. I have tried Duplicati, Urbackup, Nextcloud, Windows file history, and nothing seems to work for my use case. Use Case: I have 3 Windows laptops (win 10/11) used by 3 users about 1 TB each, as well as 3 android phones, that I want all to be backed up to my unraid box. The files and folders selected should all be sent from the source (windows laptops) to the destination (unraid box). Files should be monitored for any changes, as in editing or adding new files to the folder. Allow versions to go back in edits. There should be some sort of deduplication to prevent duplicate files. And, what seems to be the biggest issue, if a file is deleted from the source, it should NOT be deleted from the unraid location. I want to maintain all files ever sent to unraid unless I go in manually to delete it. Currently, backup solutions such as Urbackup, will create "full backups" with "incremental backups" added on to keep track of changes and keep file sizes small and efficient. You can set a retention policy on the backups to keep for an "x" amount of time. However, if I was to delete a file from the source, eventually that file will be deleted from the destination. Eventually the full backups will be cycled out for newer ones which ends up deleting files because they are no longer on the source. Nextcloud is a sync tool, except on android where I can choose to upload files to the server. I have used syncthings to try and overcome this issue, but again this is designed for syncing, and I don't like the idea of using it when the app seems very adamant against using it for such a purpose. I have read a little into Rsync, Rclone, and Robocopy. However since these are laptops, mounting a network share to unraid causes problems when a device is asleep or turned off. I am also new to CLI, and scripting is even more out of my wheel house, so setting up a way to check if the device is online, monitor files, and create a backup schedule is a big learning curve. I am tired of losing important files, and would love to find a solution where I can set it and forget it and feel safe. Once I have this setup, I will be backing up this backup share to another external drive, and some cloud provider. Sorry for the essay, and thank you again for your help! 😊
