Ive built a new system with updated hardware for my Unraid machine but I cant get it to boot from USB. I have selected "UEFI: SanDisk, Partition 1" as my Boot Option #1 but I just get BIOS each time. Im tring to mess with Fast Boot settings but no luck yet. If I plug in another USB with a Windows Installer on it that boots. If I put the USB drive back in my old server Unraid still boots and works. New motherboard is Gigabyte Z490 UD.

All good now thanks, took about 24 hours. I guess the estimation is a bit inaccurate at times.

oh so I should just wait it out? will it take the estimated 7 days?

I just swapped a 4tb disk with a 10tb disk and its currently rebuilding at 17MB/sec. Is there an issue with the drive? Thanks tower-diagnostics-20240528-1915.zip

In the list above there is a folder starting with 7. Date Feb 9. That's the first folder I can actually see in Windows, the 2 folders above that I dont see. I then don't see any folders until the folder starting with A and date Dec 11.

Just some. I've tried to find some correlation between files I can see and files I can't but I can't find anything.

I just did some more testing on this... Using unraid I moved a file I couldnt see in Windows to another share. In Windows I could see the file in the different share. I cut the file and paste it back into the share with the missing files. The file dissappeared in Windows but was visible in the share in unraid again. Im wondering if my only option is to rename the share, create a new share with the old name and copy all the data across?

I found the New Pemissions tool I was supposed to run earlier, ran that on the affected share. Still no change.

I excluded all other shares and ran docker safe new perms on Movies, unfortunately no change, just rebooting to see if that makes a difference.

yes its all there in file manager, I can even watch films in Plex that I cant see when using SMB

All of my data is available to my docker containers and when browsing the share in Unraid, but when I browse the share using NTFS in Windows a lot of data is missing. I believe this is usually filesystem corruption but I have scanned all of my disks using xfs_repair in the GUI and I dont see any corruption is found? Thanks, tower-diagnostics-20240330-2136.zip

can I swap this drive with a new one without losing the data?

the disk now mounts ok and most of my data is back, some stuff in the lost and found. the disk is still making that weird noise though but no errors are being reported, maybe I need to run a SMART test?

ok all done, had to use -L shall I take the array out of maintenance mode now and start in normal mode with the disk unassigned and post new logs?

I dont see an emulated disk, do you mean check the filesystem on disk 1? (which is now dev1 as its unassigned)

the array is now rebuilding very slowly should I stop it and unassign?

I had disk 1 disconnected so I just shutdown the server and plugged it back in so I could try and repair the drive. Thats when I noticed its showing as a new device, now I dont know if I should start the array disk 1 in it.
