    What is the manual command to spindown HDD on stopped array ? I want to preclear new HDD first before using it as replacement. (I prefer not to run/start array with missing HDD)

    Just got notice about offline "current pending sector" on my old 6 years WD Green EARS (but only 2 months total runtime). SMART Raw read error rate = 2 and current pending sector = 1. I did extended SMART test twice, the number still the same. Is it a false positive ?

    I got offline "Current pending sector" and "raw read error rate" error on one of my drive. Extended SMART test = success. and Current pending sector still 1 and raw read error rate still 2. I was thinking of doing 2 cycles of pre-read with preclear Is it possible to do pre-read test only with plugins ? or I need to do it manually using terminal ?

    which script is the newest.?. it's been a while since I use preclear command version.

    edit: my own mistake, I did install iperf manually before. removing and let nerdpack install again fix everything

    If I add 2 new drive is it wise/faster to do rsync (with screen) from 2 drive into 2 new drive, or do it one by one ?

    In the process of converting from RFS to XFS I also 'unjumpered' my older 2 TB WD drives and changed the alignment to 4K aligned. All is humming along awesome news, thanks I'll 'unjumpered' my WD green when I convert to XFS.

    from example in reply #3 let's just say if disk 4 not aligned with 4K when I finish round 4 and do round 5 "4 - Format the unformatted with unRAID. XFS disk formats." since the default MBR is 4k-aligned in settings will it format XFS along with MBR 4K ? or it will still use previous MBR ?

    can I follow post no #3 if I want to do 4K alignment + XFS ? WD green 2TB was previously "512 jumpered" (unraid V4)

    just grabbed another m1015, I can straight go to P19 right ? or I need to follow P11 conversion method then upgrade to P19 ?

    I just preclear 2*RED 3TB. first HDD finish 1st cycle 36 hours and 2nd cycle 37 hours second HDD finish 1st cycle 41 hours and 2nd cycle 42 hours both show no error (0 in Reallocated_Sector_Ct and 0 in Current_Pending_Sector) How come the second HDD take 4-5 hours longer ? should I worry and run 3rd cycle ?
