  3. Thanks Jonathanm I did a parity check just hours before the error showed and everything was fine. Ditto for drive 7...time to get a replacement.
  4. Hi, found couple of dozen errors in red in my syslog (attached) ie: Dec 21 06:39:30 Tower kernel: ata8.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x0 and Dec 21 06:39:30 Tower kernel: res 51/40:1f:10:7d:d3/00:00:d4:00:00/e0 Emask 0x9 (media error) and Dec 21 06:39:35 Tower kernel: ata8.00: error: { UNC } and Dec 21 06:39:51 Tower kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev sdh, sector 3570680576 and Dec 21 06:39:51 Tower kernel: md: disk7 read error and Dec 21 06:39:51 Tower kernel: handle_stripe read error: 3570680512/1, count: 1 Does anyone knows what is going on and how to correct the problem? Thank you BobRock syslog-2015-12-21.txt
  5. Well, as turns out I had three separate issues..... First my Flash drive was corrupted, it is working now after reformatting and restoring the files. Just finished the synch and no errors found. Second issue was with my front USB controllers that are (were) fried. I'm using USB ports from the back now. Third, my BIOS setup (boot order) gets changed to boot from the HD everytime I power off the PC. I am guessing Bios battery or the motherboard itself is gong south soon considering the second issue....it is time to replace the hardware and upgrade to ver 5 or even 6. Thanks for your help.
  6. Forgot to add...my config folder had some strange filenames and chkdsk found errors (later corrected). Yes, I'll check the boot order and free unraid.
  7. Hi, found very strange errors in the syslog and tried to restart (stop array - stop disks - reboot) but UnRaid never came back. The Bios starts but no boot from the flash drive...not even the first line (loading bizmage or similar). Tried all kind of things ie. copied backup files, re-formatted flash...nothing works). The UnRaid was running for four years without any issues with 10 drives in array. Is my motherboard gone? The log is attached. Thank you. Bob Log.txt
  8. No wifi, cat5e all around... Players are working fine again...
  9. Well, no changes made anywhere.... However, after around two hours everything went back to normal, like nothing happened. Dont know if still working but will findout when I get home tonight. Strange.... I was hoping that someone can the read log file and pinpoint the root cause....btw I am on 4.7 Thank you
  10. Hi, i am running this configuration for over two years with no issues. Tonight I got "The network share can not be accessed" message from my player. Access via PC is fine either via unRaid or mapped drives. Youtube and other plugins are wotking fine too. Just not able to connect to my share drives. Nothing was changed or added recently. Tried so far: 1. tried with other player - same thing 2. rebooted - no luck 3. powered off - luck Any pointers? The log is attached.... Thank you. syslog-2012-02-17.txt
  11. Try to ping unraid server (by name or IP) with xp down ...
  12. D'oh! Got it finally! I was looking at the wrong place... Thank you all.
  13. Im must be some misunderstanding here.....My unMenu is Version 1.3 Revision: 139. Under "Config View/Edit" there are couple of .cfg files available for update or view: disk.cfg, ident.cfg, network.cfg share.cfg and syslinux.cfg. There are number of .conf files too. The Config page in unRAID does not have any fields for DNS servers. Am I missing something?
  14. The shorthest answer is: My network.cfg file (via UnMenu GUI) showed only these lines as available: USE_DHCP= IPADDR= NETMASK= GATEWAY= and I had to manually add: DNS_SERVER1= I am confused as much as you.....
