  1. ok so the main focus is a NAS and i can host VMs to do things like run a game server possibly?
  2. so im fairly new to all of this. just finished college and trying to get more "experience" per sey. But heres what id like to be able to do, 1. data backup, from phones and pc etc. automated if possible 2. media server. music and movies mostly (ethically sourced) 3. maybe set up a game server? minecraft/ valheim/ those type of things? 4. be able to access OUTSIDE of my home network!!! thing is. ive tried to use a few other things. OMV was one and i just could not get it to work on this server. not sure why.... unraid has had high praises from reddit users especially but i'm not sure i quite understand. is unraid a "virtual environment" or is it already a server that is installed bare metal? either way any advice or knowledge is greatly appreciated. for now i'm going to browse the forums in search of knowledge
