  1. ok a little nervous about this step so just want to confirm: im going to do this^ correct? ______________________ i think i could have just started the array as it currently is but since i had assigned both as data previously(to search for parity disk), i cant seem to move back as it believes one is missing?
  2. ok so i am safe to assume I can move forward and assign one as parity one as data and rebuild the array?
  3. ok finally got back to it. I tried method #2 of mounting disks to determine which was parity. i noticed that the second was not mountable but then i did the same in reverse and it turns out i can mount either depending upon order that i mount using unassigned. since this did not give me a clear answer to which was parity i used method one and attempted to mount both disks as data disks. To my dismay both of the disks mounted?! both appear to have the same data on them and folder structure on them. again no data at risk just trying to learn.
  4. okay, i need to work the next 5 days but will attempt to recover drives after that.
  5. ok,, i understand, in the process i noticed there is also no ident.cfg or network.cfg. I transferred the go file, it did boot and is now accessible over the network, but is behaving like a new install, none of the apps or plugins are populating. i can see that there are plugins in the config/plugins folder, the drives from previous array are showing up as unassigned devices.
  6. you mean start from a new install? is this confirmation that there is something wrong with the original back up. (i have tried restoring from backup multiple times). Also, if there was data at stake, which there is not in this case, would this mean a complete loss of data?
  7. ok well oddly this is what happened i moved the file over to my desktop tried to upload it here but the forum wont allow me to, probably because the file is 0 bytes in size. i tried to open the file with 7zip
  8. long story, left me beelink s12 off for a few weeks and couldnt get server to boot. in the process of finding out it was just a problem with cms and legacy i ended up formatting my usb and reinstalling unraid from back up. upon doing this i the server is still not accessible. i did a fresh install to make sure the problem was from the unraid side not hardware/cmos etc.. fresh install boots fine. went back to install from backup and i get this. sorry for quality, since i can't access via network this is what im doing. i dont mind starting over, as i havent put anything of importance on the server but want to get this for my own understanding incase i need to restore after this is live. thanks for any help.
  9. thank you, i was working under the assumption that those were created as default before docker/vm was up. Thanks!
  10. rebooted: no effect deleted array using new config, recreated array: no effect any help appreciated, Thanks.
  11. attached the diagnostics file. 7147-diagnostics-20250221-1355.zip
  12. appears to be no shares, another thread seems to indicated that docker would create the shares upon enable, but it appears that docker requires the shares to be enabled. seems something is wrong here. not sure if i took a wrong turn. any help appreciated. (parity still being built)
  13. I have an interesting problem. I am using s3 sleep to sleep my system which works as designed. When i go to tower/main to wake the system it no longer works after an update. I know the system is in sleep because my box blinks when in sleep mode. oddly the system will wake randomly to some unknown input. I dont think this is an s3 problem as my understanding is s3 does not wake the system. I wanted to go directly do the ip address instead of using tower so i check ifconfig eth0 and there is no ip listed there as it is in other examples i have seen on the forum. I have yet to mount my array but don't think this should impact what im working on. Wanted to make sure this works as this is a important function to have before building out. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks eth0: flags=6211<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SLAVE,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 ether [mac address removed] txqueuelen 1000 (Ethernet) RX packets 807 bytes 445690 (435.2 KiB) RX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 frame 0 TX packets 1135 bytes 1073296 (1.0 MiB) TX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 carrier 0 collisions 0 to add to this i do have an ip under setting ipv4 and ipv6 which does work when I use that in the browser. Seems to me that it wakes randomly there must be a way for me to initiate the wake out side of hard button on the case. It also does not wake using the ip from the settings tab. edit 2: i followed the instructions here to check my settings make sure that wake on: g was set. And built out the bat file. Also did not wake the system. https://wiki.unraid.net/Setup_Sleep_(S3)_and_Wake_on_Lan_(WOL) Supported ports: [ TP MII ] Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full 1000baseT/Half 1000baseT/Full Supported pause frame use: Symmetric Receive-only Supports auto-negotiation: Yes Supported FEC modes: Not reported Advertised link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full 1000baseT/Half 1000baseT/Full Advertised pause frame use: Symmetric Receive-only Advertised auto-negotiation: Yes Advertised FEC modes: Not reported Link partner advertised link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full 1000baseT/Half 1000baseT/Full Link partner advertised pause frame use: Symmetric Receive-only Link partner advertised auto-negotiation: Yes Link partner advertised FEC modes: Not reported Speed: 1000Mb/s Duplex: Full Auto-negotiation: on master-slave cfg: preferred slave master-slave status: slave Port: Twisted Pair PHYAD: 0 Transceiver: external MDI-X: Unknown Supports Wake-on: pumbg Wake-on: g Link detected: yes edit 3: after checking all my bios settings with no success. I decided to uninstall and reinstall s3 sleep. Upon reinstall I can access the settings of s3 sleep however, an new development. The sleep button under the main tab is no longer present, confirmed running. The frustrating thing is that this had functioned perfectly for months and suddenly stopped so I know it can function. I might need to find another solution as a basic sleep/wake function is required for my purposes.
  14. s3 sleep stopped functioning after the most recent update. system does not wake from packet or from keyboard input.
  15. ok i think ive got this. After I assign and start the array the disk will be formatted as a matter of course. No need to format it before that. Is this correct? It is an SSD. I was confused because the other SSDs were showing an option to format while this one was showing an option to mount. All three are SSD's. (I also have 3 HDD's). Thanks!
