I guess my concept was built on a fundamental misunderstanding of TRIM... Obv. TRIM is a good thing to preserve disk life, so I def. want that, but I want to be able to grow the array/pool over time as I can afford new drives. In fact, not ALL drives I have are 2TB. I have two 2TB NVMe drives in a btrfs mirror I had hoped to use for as my main system (docker, VMs, etc. I then wanted to have a pool of 4: 2TB SSDs and a couple more 1TB and 500GB SSDs... and eventually sprinkle in some 4TBs.
What would you recommend for an optimal configuration?
