[Plugin] Spin Down SAS Drives
A combination of the indicator in the unraid GUI, and the drive light indicators on my SuperMicro JBOD chassis.

[Plugin] Spin Down SAS Drives
Just attempted it again within about 5-10 seconds of activating the spin down and it sends that same response. Im not sure if its something about these drives in particular? They are referbs but theyh have this OOS designation on the referb label I havent seen before. Its how they show up under the serial ID in unraid as well.

@doron Hey there I just wanted to check in if you may have any thoughts on these SAS disks that arent spinning down.

I'm so sorry for not responding. Seems I had my notifications off and never realized you responded. I appreciate your help I didnt mean to leave you hanging or make you feel that you were wasting your time. I ran the command and this was the response I got for each of the drives X 4: /dev/sdae: OOS18000G OOS1 Additional sense: Idle condition activated by timer

[Plugin] Spin Down SAS Drives
I went away from SAS disks for a while but recently picked up four new WD 18TB disks DOM 2024. For some reason I cant get the disks to spin down at all, even manually through the GUI. Any thoughts on what might be cuasing this or information I can send your way to help address it? I've included my server diag zip. maverick-diagnostics-20260119-1219.zip

SAS disks not spinning down along side SATA disks
I have 30 disks connected to my system via a SAS3 LSI 9305-16e HBA card out to two SuperMicro JBOD's running SAS3 controllers. All my disks these days are SATA except for four 18TB SAS disks. In the past I always had issues with the SAS disks spinning down and relied heavily on the old SAS Spindown plugin. This is the first instance where I have had the disks refuse to spindown, even when manually initiated through the GUI within Unraid. I am currently running the most recent update of 7.2.3 and have deleted the old plugin as it hasnt been maintained since 2024 and according to the discord mods, SAS disks in modern disk shelves/systems should be mostly fine with the spindown setup within Unraid. I have confirmed there is also nothing 'keeping' the disks running. maverick-diagnostics-20260119-1219.zip

Dynamix File Manager
I can attest I've encountered this same issue while running 6.12.10. Interface just stays at 'Running' forever. If you minimize it will disappear, not go to the bottom bar.

Dynamix File Manager
Started scrolling the pages here but its just too much to go through so hopefully someone has an answer to this question. Is there no way to select multiple files at once except to do select all? Introducing functionality similar to Shift+Click in Windows would be useful to avoid having to select each file/folder individually, especially when dealing with hundreds, or in my case, thousands of folders to move.

[Plugin] unbalanced
Apologies if some of this has been mentioned before, I didn’t find much that aligned with my personal use case so thought I would re-ask. I’ve been focusing on getting my array back up to snuff after swapping out 5 disks to larger and newer ones. I wound up using the File Manager plugin as it seemed to work better for my use case here. Now that I’ve almost got everything transferred to the new disks and the new array built (still a little bit of transferring between disks left to go) I’m considering using something like ‘unbalanced’ to organize the disks now that everything is kinda all over the place. I know that the ‘gather’ function of unbalanced will do what I need, I just wanted to confirm some details for those that have used it, or if there’s a better way to do this. -Will unbalanced also more external subs as well as mkv files and folders when reorganizing? -Will old folders be left behind in disks even though the contents have been reorganized? -When I am looking to reorganize my TV shows (1,400 series, 200TB) gather seems to only function on a disk to disk basis, so how would I reorganize these files across multiple disks? Thanks all for your input.

That's totally fair I can understand that. everything in these disks media and is categorized through Sonarr and Radarr so if anything goes missing I'll see it there. And no the unbalanced transfer is still going I'm going to let it finish, I was just surprised by the speed difference between the two when I can see the disk speeds in the Main Tab are pretty similar. Not sure what makes FM so much faster.

Wow ya @JonathanM this is actually stupid fast compared to unbalanced. I'm not sure why but with both unbalanced and file manager going alongside each other, unbalanced has been going for 7 hours and only 50% done. File Manager has been going for barely an hour and is 75% done....

In all honesty...because when I asked about disk to disk transfers I was recommended this plugin and forgot Dynamix FM existed lol XD

[Plugin] unbalanced
Just curious, is it possible to run multiple instance of unbalanced in a certain scenario? ie, I have 3x8TB disks in my array I would like to empty onto 3 other 16TB disks that are near empty. There is currently no parity. In this instance would in be possible to run 3 separate instances of unbalanced, moving the entirety of contents from say: disk 14 (8TB) --> disk 3 (16TB) disk 15 (8TB) --> disk 4 (16TB) disk 16 (8TB) --> disk 5 (16TB) so with no parity and no cross over between disks, it would essentially be a direct transfer from disk to disk.

Ok. thank you anyway appreciate all the support!

XFS Disk Wont Mount
Is there no way to retrieve the data from these disks without adding them to a different array? My original intention was to transfer from these disks to the new ones in the array so trying to determine the best way now of doing that since i cant mount them under UD.
