Hello everybody ! after a shutdown/start of my unraid server, docker containers have disappeared. I have upgraded to 7.0.0 to see if better, but no. i have restored my docker backup using CA backup, but still same issue. I don't see anything in system log. Hello everybody, i would like to get your opinion on my issue. my server has one array of 8x8To (sata) + 1T cache (M2). The array is "dispatched" such as: - 4 connected on motherboard - 4 connected on additional sata PCI card disks are seagate, and configuration has been modified to allow high current while spin up after sleep state (i have optimize the setup to be able to get all array sleep while no acces to it). I have noticed that all disk that are marked as failed are always those connected to the PCI Sata extended card. i can rebuild the array with no issue. Asking myself if issue is not related to spin down / spin up as i never face any issue during array parity rebuild .... Join to this post, disgnostics. regards diagnostics-20240416-0758.zip

Thanks for your support ! @trurl i guess this because i have flushed the cache to HDD before upgrading the cache. Now all is in cache (spin down working well and keep down all the night). All possible writing activities are now directly in the cache (except with mover) @JorgeB i will first try like that, but i have the possiblity to reduce the number of HDD (some on them won't be used ...), and then getting HDD directly connected to the motherboard (and this will be better for cooling). This will be in second step. regards

Hello everybody ! My unraid server has 8 HDDs + 2 parity disks. All was working without any problem. I have noticed that disks don't spin down often and then i have checked and modified some settings in applications to avoid scanning accesses on disk and use more efficiently the cache. Now disk spins down and consumption has been reduced for more that a half. i was happy ..... BUT (always a but), i have some disk errors that appear. And i don't know if it could be linked to spin down / up ? (device not ready for access on spin up => read error ??) before spin dw/up optimizations, i never face disk errors ... join to the post diagnostics. regards diagnostics-20231215-0756.zip

hello everyone, for 12 years i was using synology NAS (since 2011). I recently switched to unRaid. Several factors came into play: a NAS (synology/qnap etc...) is hardware specific, so out of warranty you have to buy another one in case of failure (very expensive) lack of volume flexibility (remove a disk, mix disk sizes - reuse old disks) with the use of docker, I was using less and less NAS apps limited power at reasonable prices. no need for high HDD throughput. However, I haven't found good alternative to some synology appications: hyperbackup (i use virtual DSM) photo (i use virtual DSM) surveillance station business backup but I don't regret my choice!

in the GUI documentation: i haven't see the tiny différences between the 2 sentences (maybe a bold can help).... thanks a lot ... cache is flushing ...

some thing strange .... i have put 40G for min free space (appdata and media shares). I have deleted files directly in the cache disk to free space .... all my dockers are stopped .... now i see my cache to be filled from disk1 to cache... You're right regarding the speed "issue" between SSD cache and HDD.... i have missed something hughe ?!

Hello everybody. I'am testing unRAID 6.11.5. I have created an unprotected array device with 2 disks of 8T and an other of 4T. i have 2 mains docker application: resilio and emby. All was working fine ... but as all was working too fine, i have decided to test the cache feature with a SSD disk of 500gb 😁 The SSD start to fill up, and once it was full ... tranferts were stopped (from resilio side: no left space), and the cache flush fails (mover) So i have checked on forum etc... but without success. So i join the diagnostic, if somebody can help me ?!
