  1. Settings -> Global Share Settings under Cache Settings. You'll need to stop the array to change it.
  2. Cleaning up some space on my cache drive and lowering the setting for Min Free Space resolved the Emby Docker stopping problem for me.
  3. Well the rsync --sparse finished. The old drive has 2.8TB used and the new one has 2.9TB used. The rsync command said it copied 4.2TB of data. Afterwards I updated to 6.3.3 and ran the reiserfsck on the old drive and it checked out fine, no corruption. I'm not sure what to do next. Do I just go ahead and finish my conversion? Thanks, Doug
  4. Thanks for the info. I'm trying the --sparse command first but I really don't think that's the issue. I certainly didn't put them there, but I suppose some process could have. I have a feeling it goes back to some of the corruption issues I had last year with the SAS2LP card and the reiserfsck is going to be the solution, but we'll see. Thanks again, Doug
  5. Hey guys, I need some help converting my last reiserfs disk. All the rest have gone fine, but this one is behaving oddly. I'm copying Disk 8 (4TB) to Disk 13 (4TB) using the rsync command in the wiki page. As you can see the it's already copied more data than the array shows the original drive having. I tried this once already and it filled up my 4TB drive and wasn't done yet. The main page tells me the drive is only using 2.8TB, but it fills up a 4TB drive trying to do the copy? What's going on? Below is a pic and enclosed are the diagnostics. tower-diagnostics-20170404-2052.zip
  6. Ah I was just considering taking on the conversion from reiser to XFS. Maybe it's finally time. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
  7. I was still running version 6.1.9 so I decided to give the upgrade a try. The upgrade to 6.3.2 went smooth and everything seems to be working okay. I tried the copy from Windows again and this time it succeeded. It's still a bit odd though as the copy speed fluctuates from 100+ MB/s down to < 1 MB/s. It stalled a few times but ultimately didn't fail though which is good. Are these wide speed fluctuations normal now? Doug
  8. Agreed that number seems fairly normal. It just felt slow while I was watching it. When I try to copy from Windows to the Array it's still failing though. The copy starts okay, but then trails off to nothing and eventually fails.
  9. So I was able to copy the file from the cache disk to the array using midnight commander. It seemed quite slow but was successful. It said it was copying around 33 MB/s.
  10. I rebooted and ran a fresh set of diagnostics in case there is anything at startup that might be helpful. No change to the behavior after reboot. tower-diagnostics-20170316-2017.zip
  11. Hi folks, Suddenly today I am not able to copy large files to my array. I don't see any issues on the dashboard, but when I copy to a Share it starts fine, but the speeds slows way down and eventually fails. I tried copying to the Cache drive and that works just fine. Enclosed are my diagnostics. Any ideas what's going on? Thanks, Doug tower-diagnostics-20170316-1951.zip
  12. Well I think the problem may be the additional memory I just installed. I reverted to 6.1.7 and then had another segfault, but it was in one of my dockers this time. Going to try removing the memory and see how it goes. Memtest on boot menu. Over 2 hours and no more segfaults. Looks like it's either bad memory or just a bad combination. I'll check out the memtest and move this discussion to the hardware forum if I need further assistance. Thanks for the help! Doug
  13. Well I think the problem may be the additional memory I just installed. I reverted to 6.1.7 and then had another segfault, but it was in one of my dockers this time. Going to try removing the memory and see how it goes.
  14. I upgraded to 6.1.8 today and I've had kernel crashing issues twice now. This time I think I may have caught the error that is triggering it. I've enclosed the diagnostics here. It looks like the array is getting disconnected. tower-diagnostics-20160214-1854.zip
  15. I'm running 6.1.6 and I wasn't able to update via the Plugins page. I tried several times and it just kept telling me there was no update available. I restarted the server and tried again and it found the update okay. The update installed okay and everything seems to be normal. Doug
  16. A system hang like you describe is how I found this last round of file system corruption. I was doing a parity check and near the end the webgui became unresponsive. I could telnet in still so I took a quick look at the syslog and at the end of it I saw the file system errors telling me to run reiserfsck. I tried to reboot from the command prompt but even that hung and I had to manually power off the system. After rebooting I ran the reiserfsck on the disk that was throwing the error and I needed to use the --rebuild-tree option. That will still be running for several hours, so while I wait for that I'm checking the other drives in another session just to be sure I don't have more. Good luck resolving your issue. After all the issues I've had I'd recommend replacing those controllers sooner rather than later, especially since you have them in hand. I've lost some of my data due to these issues. Luckily nothing important, but still a PITA.
  17. Well I'm able to rebuild drives and do parity checks now without getting read errors on other drives. So that's good. My last parity check average looks like it was around 90 MB/s. Unfortunately now I'm dealing with file system corruption issues, most likely because of all the rebuilds I tried to do when the SAS2LP was causing the redball errors. The disks with corruption are the same ones that were redballing. Whatever the bug is with that card is pretty ugly in v6. I never had trouble with v5 and now v6 has been nothing but headaches. Hopefully after getting this last drive file system check done I can get back to a stable environment I can just enjoy again. Doug
  18. Ok I got the megarec utility by downloading Fireball's package. Card is successfully flashed! Server booted up and everything looks normal. Now to see if I can get all my drives working correctly again and do a parity check without get a random redball. Thanks everyone for the help. Doug
  19. Scratch that. I got it to boot by removing the power connectors from all my drives. Now the only problem is when I try the first command all I get back is the "Unknown command megarec" error. That file isn't in the files provided in the link. Where does this come from? Doug
  20. Well I got my card, but apparently have no way to flash it. None of my PCs except the UNRAID server have the correct PCI Express slots for this card. I can't seem to get my UNRAID server to boot into DOS. I tried one USB stick and when it boots my screen just says "Invalid Partition". I tried another stick which was actually my other UNRAID stick for a test server and that one won't boot either. I used that particular stick because I know it boots okay from USB. I confirmed both USB sticks boot to DOS on another PC, but that PC allows me to hit F8 for a boot menu and choose the USB. My UNRAID server has the SuperMicro X8SIL which doesn't have a boot menu, but allows you to chose the USB stick as the first boot device. I also tried the H310 in a PC with a PCIe x16 slot, but it wouldn't boot with the card in it. Booted find after taking the H310 out. Anyone have any ideas how I can get this done?
  21. Yeah and the issue I'm having is the redball one. So just to confirm I do the below steps once I get my H310: Download the files in Dell link in this post: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=12767.msg409244#msg409244 Then perform the steps in this post: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=12767.msg409058#msg409058 Thanks, Doug
  22. From the posts in this thread it doesn't seem like the tunable setting completely resolves the issue. If replacing the controller will fully fix it then I'm sold. Maybe I'll keep the SAS2LP for an additional controller once this is actually resolved. Doug
  23. I found this thread because I'm having this issue with random redball drives either during parity checks or during drive rebuilds. The drives in question are on a SAS2LP controller. If I want to replace the controller so I can get rid of this issue for good hopefully, what are the recommended options that will support 4TB drives? Thanks, Doug
  24. Thanks for that information. That really helps. I didn't think about searching for the issue by the controller. After reading through a bit of those threads it sounds like exactly the issue I'm having. Hopefully replacing that card will resolve this for good. Doug
  25. Anyone have any thoughts about what those errors might mean? I'm really stuck here and not sure what to do short of ordering parts. Thanks, Doug
