  1. Thank you, I'll keep that in mind if I need to do it again. Now i'm just curious why it lost all it's dockers in the first place. Either way, it's all up and running again now.
  2. Ahh I didn't see that option. Another thing I found to do which appears to have worked. Is on the docker page I click add container, then I can select a template which seems to relate to all the previous ones that I had. Which is handy because it keeps all the settings etc.
  3. I think I may have figured it out. By going to docker then add container. I can select an exsisting template which relates to the folders in the appdata. Just curious as to why I'm needing to do this in the first place, Have I missed a potential backup stage or option somewhere?
  4. Hi All. Had a bad power outage last night, power would flicker on and off for a while. (power pole to the unit complex caught fire). I completely forgot to pull the power plug to my server as I was more concerned with my home PC and other electronics. Unfortunately, I don't yet have a UPS as the server isn't exactly critical. Woke up this morning to a couple of issues (MB is set to power on from recover of AC loss). The server occasionally wouldn't boot up due to errors I think on the unraid USB. Seemed to resolve that by scanning/repairing the USB on my home PC (even though it said it was fine) and also updated the BIOS on my servers MB. Now seems to boot successfully every time. Next issue is that all the dockers have now disappeared apart from 3, and the dates on those are 6 months ago when I first configured the server. I have the appdata backup plugin which I tried to restore everything from (inc the boot usb?), but not sure if that is supposed to restore the dockers or if I need to reinstall them from the apps page. All the folders appear to be in the appdata share. Just need some tips/ideas or things to check before I go and grab all the dockers again and hopefully get them to pick up the config files. Is there a way to grab a backup from 2 nights ago USB from the unraid connect site? As it appears it backed up this morning which would be a config i'd not want to restore from.
  5. Hi Guys I have a question. Had a bad power failure last night, power pole on my complex caught fire and power was going crazy. Unraid server was missing alot of dockers this morning, so I initiated the backup from this plugin. selected to restore everything from 2 nights ago. But I'm not sure if i'm supposed to see the restored dockers or not? it appears that all the folders in the appdata folder are there. WIll i need to manually install the dockers again and hope they pickup the right config folders?
  6. Hi Sorry in advance if this is the wrong forum or spot, but hoping someone might be able to give some pointers or put me in the right direction. I'm new to this thing and I'm slowly building up my unraid server and trying to configure it for best or near best security practices. unraid version is 6.12.0 rc6 Currently, the server is connected to the unraid connect plugin and i can access it remotely via that site. which is fine. I have torrent dockers setup going through a VPN and they are working ok (mullvad VPN using wireguard) I'm using nginx proxy manager to point some domains (123.domain.abc etc) to some dockers and can access them remotely, using Cloudflare's proxied DNS and SSL certificates etc following the 2 IBRACORP YouTube videos. Currently the only ports being forwarded to unraid box is the ports for nginx and plex. The next thing i want to do, and i have no idea if this is possible. I use RDP into my windows desktop to configure the server if I'm away from home (correct port is being forwarded to my pc from router). I use my router's wake on lan function to turn my PC on if need be (and I'm happy to switch to using unraid via connect to use a wake on lan function to turn this on) The reason i configure this way occasionally rather than the connect plugin, is because i might want to shift some files around via windows explorer, or access the webui of some dockers that I haven't allowed access to the outside. However, to connect via rdp i use to use a domain - rdp.domain.com, but with the new Cloudflare proxied DNS and SSL i've setup, it no longer connects that way, if i turn off the cloudflare proxy it works, or if i use the straight IP address it works fine. I assume it's because I can't add/change a certificate to the rdp protocol in windows due to it not being a windows server machine. Is there a way to RDP with a docker/plugin or something to connect to my pc? The PC is running Windows 11 pro if that helps. I'd prefer not to run unattended TeamViewer or anydesk etc and just rdp. I hope that all made sense, and If this is outside the scope of this forum or anything like that, I'm sorry! Thanks in advance!
  7. Hi @zspearmint I have that option when i'm connected on the same network as the server. However once i'm off the same network (on my mobile reception for example) the option to refresh the header image from the server is gone. Maybe a potential bug? Cheers
  8. Hi there, just wondering if this is something that might be resolvable or not. When using unraid connect on a web browser that has logged into the unraid server on the same network, the custom banner image shows up in the connect.myunraid page. However when i connected from my work laptop and also my phone (so different networks), the banner image is the generic default one. When i connect to my home network and simply refresh the unraid connect page it syncs up the banner image. it's a very very very very minor little nitpick, but was just curious if there's something else i needed to do.
  9. Awesome, thank you for the advice and assisting.
  10. Lets assume that I wont be adding additional drives. By the time i need to i'll probably have a new box. I've done more googling since this post and think I might have found a way to do what i'm after. If i use a flash drive that i wont use and make that an array (as unraid needs an array to function) then set the 4 drives to be a zfs pool, i'll still be able to do everything i need? creating shares (or datasets if i understand it correctly) and having my media and files accessable via my windows PC etc then i make another pool with the SSD for the appdata and dockers to live on. does that sound feasable? i'm interested in the benefits zfs provides of redundancy, bitrot protection and the raidz performance - if i understand it right (parity checks on 4x16tb drives doesn't appeal to me) i really want to go with unraid instead of truenas scale because of all the guides and video's i've watched make it relatively easy to configure and setup, i just need to sus out the starting point.
  11. Hi All tried to make the title as best as i could for a title, needing some advice. i've done lots of google-fu but still struggling to comprehand a few things. Essentially i'm building a new box, it will have 4 x 16tb drives, along with a 500gb ssd for cache; and i don't expect to expand for a very long time. I saw the notes for the new rc with zfs support and i'm trying to figure out the best way to install unraid. From my understanding i can have the normal way of making an array of 3 drives + 1 parity, this way should allow drives to spin down when not being used? then with the zfs pool i can make it have raidz which will have 1 redundant drive but it will have better read/write speeds. Is that pretty much the only differences? use cases will just mainly be pihole, plex and torrents. the only user will be myself so there will be long periods of no activity. i understand also if i go for the array with the parity drive, it's best to configure it all then unassign the parity drive. copy over all my data to it, then turn on the parity drive? is there anything else i should do before/after if i go this route? if i go zfs route, is there anything that needs to be done before/after?
