  1. If you want anyone from LT to look at this, you have to attach your diagnostics file! Yeah, I know. It was just a question for other users. Not specific for Limetech because I was not completely sure.
  2. Is it possible that the wrong activity icon is shown when a drive is active? Are there more people with this problem. When I play music the wrong activity icon is showing activity, My music is on disk 4 but in tab main disks 2 and 3 are active. I rechecked the location of the music and it's really on disk 4 and disk 4 is inactive. Edit: It's working correct now. Not sure what was wrong probably I needed coffee...

    The Synology Thread

Yeah, Linus has made really great videos of unRAID. I also use Plex on my Unraid server because i need the power. At the moment I run all third party apps on unRAID (Docker) and only official Synology apps on the Synology. I think I'm also going to use the RS815+ for cloud and back. Not completely sure of the cloud yet. I also like Owncloud...
  4. [offtopic] I have an synology too, 1511+. My plan is to keep it and once the new DSM comes out I will backup all the data on it (some will be moved permanent to unraid) then i will set it up with SHR2 and use it for backups for the unraid [/offtopic] Shall we continue our conversation in this thread? https://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=47637.0

    The Synology Thread

This is continuation of this conversation. [offtopic] I have an synology too, 1511+. My plan is to keep it and once the new DSM comes out I will backup all the data on it (some will be moved permanent to unraid) then i will set it up with SHR2 and use it for backups for the unraid [/offtopic] I have a RS2413+, RX1214 and RS815+ bought second hand for really good price. At the moment I want to sell the Synology 2413+, RX1214 and keep the RS815+. What I don't like about the Synology that they are underpowered for the services I want to run. So I transfer that to the unRAID server. The next awesome feature of unRAID is that I can use SMR drives!!!
  6. Many thank you's for this release! Not had any issues... [offtopic] I have a pro license since 2013. I not always used unRAID but always followed the forums. unRAID has awesome community. Instead of using unRAID I used a Synology NAS. At the moment I'm considering selling the Synology because I use unRAID for a week now (6.2 beta18). unRAID gets better with every release. I'm planning a new unRAID build because my current unRAID server can only hold 5 drives. Thumbs up Limetech! [/offtopic]
  7. I had the wrong tv series directory linked to Sonarr. I had linked via the unRAID --> share directory. That was of course wrong it had to be the tv directory. Thank you for your time!
  8. Hi, thanks for the explanation! Here my mapping:
  9. Thanks for the heads up. I checked before posting and double checked a minute ago. It's set to "no".
  10. I have issue with Sonarr. When the file is downloaded Sonarr imports the file. I download with SABnzbd on the cache drive. For some reason the downloaded file stays on the cache drive in the correct folder (/TV Series/Lost/Season1/s01e01). The cache drive is disabled for the TV Series directory. Any idea? P.S. I run 6.2 beta18

    X-Case rackmount

No problem I can use these rails in my rack. They are not thick. Great that there are no problems mounting the drive to the caddy. Many thank you's!
  12. Okay, clear! Thank you for your time.
  13. What is the speed when you connect the all drives to a HBA card?
  14. This is the video https://youtu.be/SLz2muqcy98 Go to 3.40.
  15. I don't see anything... This is the case X-CASE RM 424 PRO WITH SAS EXPANDER & SGPIO BACKPLANE. If you follow the link I posted in the first post you also see the case.
  16. Hi, thanks for answering! Where do you base this on because if you check the video the guy explains that you can connect 2 sas cables to the backplane. So if I'm correct 12Gbit/s capacity a cable thus 24 Gbit/s in total. 24Gbit/s / 24 drives = 1 Gbit/s a drive. Is this correct? Edit: Hmm, yeah thus roughly 110MB/s a drive.., and st8000v2 drives can reach 200MB/s?
  17. I want to use this case. https://www.xcase.co.uk/4u-rackmount-server-cases/x-case-rm-424-pro-with-sas-expander-sgpio-backplane-649-00-x-case.html It has a integrated expander in the backplane. How will this effect the speed of unRAID? I want to use 2 cables to connect to the backplane.

    X-Case rackmount

    Okay, clear. Thanks!
  19. Okay, thank you for confirming. I'll check the smart values and pre clear I used before. Good tool!
  20. Yup, the last assumption is correct. I want to copy the data from the 2TB drives to the 6TB drives then move them over to the temporary unRAID server. Then formatting and using (exchanging later) the 2TB drives.

    X-Case rackmount

I'm not sure how much slower it will be because the backplane can use 2 channels. So I want to attach it with 2 cables to the HBA card. I have a 100 cm deep rack and need 80 cm long rails. I'm not sure if the rails on the product page are the correct one.
  22. Hi, I need some information of a pro. I have a virtutulization server. I want to convert this to a unRAID server till I have a new unRAID build. I also have a Synology NAS. It has a RAID 5 array of 4x6TB and a second RAID 5 array of 4x2TB. The temporary unRAID Chassis has 5 hot swap bays. I like to add 4 2TB drives. These come out the Synology NAS. The data from these 4 2TB drives will be copied to 4 6TB drives in RAID 5 array on the Synology NAS. There is some space left on this array. So now I have 1 parity drive of 2 TB and have 6 TB protected on the temporary unRAID server. Now I can copy over data. Then i want to replace the 2TB parity drive with a with a 8TB seagate SHR drive also add a second 8TB drive for data. Maybe this month or next month. Then all hot swap bays are full. I will have 14 TB of storage. I hope this enough so I can copy the remaining data of 4x6TB RAID array. If I can place all data on the temporary unRAID server then I can sell the Synology and build a new unRAID server. So I first have to replace the parity drive then the data drives. Correct? Maybe there is a better way please let me know.

    X-Case rackmount

Thanks for your answer! Just take a look at the videos on the site of xcase. You have a very nice case! The shipping price is not expensive and fast delivery. That's very positive! I'm located in the Netherlands so in theory the price should be lower as 40 £. Yes that are indeed my thoughts but i think it doesn't saves much. Also less cable clutter in the case and I only need 1 expansion slot. What are you experience so far with this case? How is the build quality? Do you know if the Seagate st8000v2 fits in the caddy.I thought there where some problems with the mounting holes with certain caddy types. Did you order rails if so what the quality and do you have a picture. I can't find a picture of the rails on the xcase site.

    X-Case rackmount

Hi, Does anyone have any experience with this case from X-Case? This case has a expander integrated in the backplane. Can I use this case with unRAID? Any idea what the shipping cost are (Netherlands)? https://www.xcase.co.uk/4u-rackmount-server-cases/x-case-rm-424-pro-with-sas-expander-sgpio-backplane-649-00-x-case.html/url]
