  1. Not sure if I had the same issue, but almost identical hardware and MB. Subject: Alert - Device failure... Read NVMe Identify Controller failed: Input/output error. I'm just replacing it, as I've read to many issues with this thing overheating and this problem. Going WD and pray that works. Samsung 990 PRO 2TB just bought two weeks ago. I have the 980 as the other cache drive and its been stellar.
  2. Should I just turn off the server and try again?
  3. I can't get anyone a log file, and looking for some direction. Logged into Unraid, went to update Apps and Dockers, but had blank screens, I went back and forth nothing. Was able to see Dashboard and Main screen with Disks on it after I signed back in again, but again no Apps or Dockers. Noticed on dashboard there was zero processor activity, and ZFS showing 100%. Saw activity on other items. Decided to try a reboot, but I don't think it ever rebooted. I was able to shut off the array, showed stopped. So then tried to power down the server. Power is still on and screen still on ZFS still at 100% Processor also the same as I described. I decided after 20 30 min to press power button once, as there was no change. Everything is still on. So not sure what is happening and question I have is should I just hold down the button, knowing that the array was stopped? Sorry wish I had logs and so forth. This thing has been a champ for months. My data disks are xfs, and I don't know much about differences or get into the whats better, or if I should have ZFS, or is that part of the memory- I'm new, so unsure why that shows up on dashboard and guess I never paid attention, but mentioning in case that is some issue as well.
  4. Apparently no answer to this question? Did you ever get/find a solution?
  5. Thank you all.... Parity Sync in progress. looks like all my dat is on the other disks. Appreciate you!
  6. I need to ensure I select all once I move Disk 1 to Parity... and on the New Config Tool, "Preserve current assignments" I should likely select All?
  7. Yeah... probably would be smart to use the correct Tool.. I was using Docker Safe New Permissions - had that in my head for something else I was working on. Trying correct tool now.
  8. Did New config, ran that, stopped the array, moved the Disk 1 to Parity Drive, but now showing this:
  9. I know this is an old thread, but think this is the correct place, without opening a new thread. I have Parity 12 TB Disk 1 12 TB (I used MC to move the few directories adn files to Disk 4, the are there and seem okay- then deleted the date from Disk 1) Disk 2- 5 are 4 TB drives and likely will add more down the road. Question- If Disk 1 is all cleared (only ISO directory is left on that Disk), how would I then turn that into my 2nd Parity. Do I simply to Tools>New Config stop the array, and change that Disk 1 to a Parity Drive? Or is it more complicated than that? If so, what would be the steps? Hope I provided enough information.
  10. So this.....make sense. Thanks again!
  11. Appreciated the link, and I did read that the other day, then read again today. I still don't understand. So the "Use Cache" was removed in this version? So all the things I've found on the web and a book I read (Digital Fort Knox) in how to set up my shares are now Moot with that step removed? Maybe I don't understand then. I simply want to move my current WD Mycloud EX2 Ultra files(Music, Documents, Videos, Photos, etc) over to the Unraid server- and I have done some of that already, withouth the cache. My understanding is files should move to Cache first, then it writes it to whatever drive you have specified. If that option is not there, how would I now set up my shares so when I move (in this case I'm copying to be safe) the files it writes to cache first? Again, i've read through that link and likely I'm just ignorant on the subjects. Or does it not matter? Eventually the idea is to move my Plex stuff to the drives/unraid, and have access in the network to stream both in and out of network. Sorry to be so detailed, maybe I am over complicating and cache doesn't matter, so why even have cache?
  12. Unraid version- 6.12.2 No plugins or addons Hardware- Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. A520M-A PRO (MS-7C96) , Version 1.0 American Megatrends International, LLC., Version 1.C0 BIOS dated: Mon 6 Mar 2023 12:00:00 AM PST AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core @ 3600 MHz Corsair - Memory: 32 GiB DDR4 Parity - Seatgate Iron Wolf 12tb Disk 1 -Seagate Iron Wolf 12tb Disk 2 and 3 both- WD RED NAS 4tb Cache- Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 250 GB Flash- Cruzer Glide 30.8 GB I already created some shares and just copied over from old NAS cloud server direct to my new Unraid disks, but the option to "Use Cache" is not available on the shares tab so down the road reading and writing could be better (right?). See screen print below. On a second note- I can't figure out how to turn the appdata, domains, system from Orange Triangle warnings (aka unprotected) to Green I am new to unraid, trying to get away from my WD My Cloud Ultra since WD has lost my trust. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
