  1. Not the current one, thinking abou buying one…
  2. Hi all. After the great JorgeB solved my network configuration problem, I was left with the fact that the eth0, which is a gigabyte onboard NIC, only runs at 100mb/s. Changed cable, switch port, checked to see if there was a ethernet BIOS option (there is not ), used the "ethtool -s eth0 speed 1000 duplex full autoneg off" command, all stuff I found here searching the forum. I have this nic connected to my gigabyte switch -> router -> internet. And another NIC, 2,5gbe, connected directly to my MacBook through a 2.5gbe-thunderbolt adapter. I suspect the problem is with the nic controller... Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Controller I225-V (rev 03) Now, if I was to change the switch to a 2.5gbe enabled, I could just disable (or just disconnect) the gigabyte onboard nic, and use the 2.5 nic as my eth0, connect all devices to the switch, so the server connection to the internet would be ok as well as the MacBook connection to the server would be at 2.5gbe speed...is that correct? root@Calango:~# ethtool eth0 Settings for eth0: Supported ports: [ TP MII ] Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full Supported pause frame use: Symmetric Receive-only Supports auto-negotiation: Yes Supported FEC modes: Not reported Advertised link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full Advertised pause frame use: Symmetric Receive-only Advertised auto-negotiation: Yes Advertised FEC modes: Not reported Link partner advertised link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full Link partner advertised pause frame use: Symmetric Link partner advertised auto-negotiation: Yes Link partner advertised FEC modes: Not reported Speed: 100Mb/s Duplex: Full Auto-negotiation: on Port: Twisted Pair PHYAD: 0 Transceiver: external MDI-X: Unknown Supports Wake-on: pumbg Wake-on: d Link detected: yes root@Calango:~# ethtool eth1 Settings for eth1: Supported ports: [ TP ] Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full 1000baseT/Full 2500baseT/Full Supported pause frame use: Symmetric Supports auto-negotiation: Yes Supported FEC modes: Not reported Advertised link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full 1000baseT/Full 2500baseT/Full Advertised pause frame use: Symmetric Advertised auto-negotiation: Yes Advertised FEC modes: Not reported Speed: 2500Mb/s Duplex: Full Auto-negotiation: on Port: Twisted Pair PHYAD: 0 Transceiver: internal MDI-X: off (auto) Supports Wake-on: pumbg Wake-on: g Current message level: 0x00000007 (7) drv probe link Link detected: yes
  3. Now it worked! Thanks a lot Jorge for your guidance and patience! Unraid is great, but for the non linux/network savvy, it can be a pain!
  4. About speed...yeah, seems I´m running eth0 at 100mb/s...how do I fix this??? Or Am I confusing Gigabit (Gb) for Gigabyte (GB)? But then the second nic would be 250 mb/s...The more I dig...rsrs. ETH1 is at full speed, with would be good if it worked... root@Calango:~# ethtool eth0 Settings for eth0: Supported ports: [ TP MII ] Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full Supported pause frame use: Symmetric Receive-only Supports auto-negotiation: Yes Supported FEC modes: Not reported Advertised link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full Advertised pause frame use: Symmetric Receive-only Advertised auto-negotiation: Yes Advertised FEC modes: Not reported Link partner advertised link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full Link partner advertised pause frame use: Symmetric Link partner advertised auto-negotiation: Yes Link partner advertised FEC modes: Not reported Speed: 100Mb/s Duplex: Full Auto-negotiation: on Port: Twisted Pair PHYAD: 0 Transceiver: external MDI-X: Unknown Supports Wake-on: pumbg Wake-on: d Link detected: yes root@Calango:~# ethtool eth1 Settings for eth1: Supported ports: [ TP ] Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full 1000baseT/Full 2500baseT/Full Supported pause frame use: Symmetric Supports auto-negotiation: Yes Supported FEC modes: Not reported Advertised link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full 1000baseT/Full 2500baseT/Full Advertised pause frame use: Symmetric Advertised auto-negotiation: Yes Advertised FEC modes: Not reported Speed: 2500Mb/s Duplex: Full Auto-negotiation: on Port: Twisted Pair PHYAD: 0 Transceiver: internal MDI-X: off (auto) Supports Wake-on: pumbg Wake-on: g Current message level: 0x00000007 (7) drv probe link Link detected: yes
  5. That immediately kills my connection to the internet on the server...
  6. Getting gigabyte speeds on the dashboard, an 11 mb/s test transfers...
  7. Ok, so I deleted the network.config on the Unraid pendrive, rebooted (of course) and then settings were like the first image, bonded ports, regained access to the internet. Modified the file like the second image, set the MacBook 2.5 gbe like that...and nothing works anymore...reversed the configuration file to the "default" and it works, but only in bonded mode, which is kinda useless...jee...
  8. I will, right away...the subnet mask on the MacBook you mean? I don´t see a subnet field on the server side...
  9. Just did, to no avail...aditionally, I just realized my server lost connection to the internet, although my Mac still has it...and the interface started to behave wired...creepy Just figured the wired screen part...rsrs...the problem itself remains unsolved...

  11. Oh, as I said, I did change the ip on the server with no results... here is the diagnostics file. calango-diagnostics-20240610-0920.zip
  12. Just did 10.10.20.198 for the server...say it can´t connect...this is so frustrating...it was working just fine...
  13. I have two NICs in the box...one is the 192...that connects to the switch and the other is the 2.5g which is the 10.10.20.197...the Mac connects to the box trough the 192... connection to login and transfer at lower speeds...and directly through the 10.10.20.197 connection when I wand to go faster...subnet mask are different too... am I misinterpreting something? Calango is the server and the other marked one is the MacBook...
  14. Hi all. So, I have a Unraid box connected to my network via a gigabyte connection to my switch, and directly to my MacBook connected through a 2.5g nic in the box for faster access to the MacBook. Was working fine. Then today I turn the box on and the 2.5 connection does not work, the gigabyte works fine. Can´t figure why. Attached are the configuration screens...already deleted the network.config file from the Unraid thumb drive, no good... Any ideas? The first image says that " another device in the network is using that IP...", which there isn´t... Thanks, Andre
  15. Really? So I got deceived by the nomenclature…so be it then…thanks!
  16. Hi all. So, I have a Unraid setup, last version, made of 4 SATA 5400 rpm hard drives, plus one 256gb NVME used as cache. Connected to my MacBook Pro via a 2.5G nic with a proper 2.5G thunderbolt adapter, CAT 6e cable. The Mac network tab shows the connection as 2.5G lan. When connecting the share to the Mac I take care to connect through this direct route and not the general 1gb nic connected to the router (different IP addresses for each nic) . Neverthless, I can't get speed transfers over 300 mb/s as shown in the Unraid dashboard... any ideas of why that might be? Any insights will be greatly appreciated!
  17. I have a share named Fotos with multiple folders and subfolders. Inside the Unraid 6.12.2 page on the browser or using Crusader, I can see and modify all the folders and their content. Connecting the Share to my Mac via SMB or NFS I can also see and modify all the folders and their content from Finder. Except for one folder. This folders shows up, but when I open it it’s “empty”. And I can do nothing inside it, like creating a folder or copying a file to me. Already checked permissions, all set to rw to all users (it’s just me anyways…) and run the New Permissions tool from Unraid to correct any problems with permissions…still the same… What can possibly be the problem???
  18. You mean I should login as a user and not as root? The local path is /mnt/NAS
  19. Hi all. So I mounted an Unraid share using cifs, providing my user and password which are accepted. Then I try to transfer a file with rsync to it from my Ubuntu machine and the Unraid server do not accept the same already proven password (because it mounted the share with that password..) Can't figure it out! PS "senha" means password in portuguese,,, Thanks, André avallejo@andre-xps:~/Documents$ sudo rsync -rv testeCopia [email protected]:/mnt/BackUPWin [sudo] senha para avallejo: The authenticity of host '192.168.0.150 (192.168.0.150)' can't be established. 20. Hi all. I’m learning this and not sure if doing this right… I’ve set up a share “Backups”in my Unraid server and set the SMB permissions…share is set as Public. (I’m inside my home network) Now in a pc running Ubuntu Studio I mounted this share with CIFS and I see a mnt/NAS/Backups inside the mounting point (mnt/NAS) in the file manager…wired enough I can access this share but the right click doesn’t show a Paste File option if I want to paste some test file there… Installed LuckyBackup superuser version and set up a backup from the PC / to mnt/NAS/Backups. Setting / as the origin in the PC is the right way to clone it? It’s copying my root structure to the server share, but from time to time I see a lot of red lines in the LuckyBackup progression window…It’s about 200 gigs so it’s gonna take hours over my gigabyte connection…thanks!
  21. Didn’t try that, my goal is to make unidirectional copies to the Unraid server so I have a safe backup…so I plan to run it manually from time to time…
  22. Oh, I used Rclone Browser, an app you find in Unraid, command line is still too much for me…it’s easy to use.
  23. I’ve given up on this app, kept disconnecting…went the rclone way, and it works flawlessly…
  24. Hello all...another newbie here...so...I installed Rclone and Rclone browser...in Rclone browser I set up a Dropbox connection, went fine, I can browse my Dropbox through it...but when I go to Unraid terminal and type Rclone config it says "no remotes found"...and it appears in the Rclone Browser...what´s wrong here? And plus, when I try to download a file from my Dropbox through Rclone Browser, I set the destination file to a mapped folder in one of my shares, click ok but nothing happens...lost here!
