  1. I changed it because it keep looking for tower on the other computer. I was just trying to distinguish my latest efforts.

  3. where do i get the logs from? i did have a look at the docker faq. Sorry about this guys, it's embarasing.
  4. here is my appdata settings.. not sure if this has anything to do with it. pretty much the only difference between the two systems is the cache drive, and of course the licence and some of the hardware
  5. I just uninstalled, then deleted the plex diretory from /mnt/user/appdata/plex and /mnt/cache/appdata/plex. when i reinstall, it makes a directory /plex in BOTH those locations. Is it maybe a setting I have wrong with the cache drive?
  6. pretty sure, i used MC and deleted it. the non working system has an SSD cache disk which the working system doesn't. I will check again, where is the default plex appdata? \mnt\cache\appdata\plex i think..
  7. another thing i just noticed.. if i start up the working plex, i can go into the non-working one, log into the GUI and it instantly finds the other server and works (until i turn the working computer off). The non-working version just doesn't make it's own server, but like I said, sees the other server.
  8. yes, but one version is a pro licence (non working) and the working one is a plus licence.
  9. yes, i have plex pass. you know another weird thing is I have my main computer that i just booted up with a plus licence (i have a pro and plus licence). I did the exact same steps and plex works on this computer. I noticed the docker icon looks a little different, not sure if that is a hint or anything. see how this one just says plex but the non working one says container ID and by linuxserver?
  10. just on way home from work will post screenshots in an hour. thanks for taking the time to respond.
  11. ya, sorry man, my mistake, and I was on my phone. I downloaded it via the apps. It is installed but I wasn't sure what I should pick for the containers, etc. It just keeps saying looking for servers. Since it is supposed to be the server, i thought i downloaded plex instead of plex server. I have been trying for days to get this working to no avail. Searching, reading, just can't get it done. This was one of the reasons I moved to Windows from Unraid a couple years ago, it's just easier. I just bought an nice SATA controller card and was just going to buy all new hardware but not if I can't get everything working. Any help would be so much appreciated..
  12. I did that but when i try to launch it, it keeps saying looking for server, nothing happens. Not sure I have my directories right.
  13. How do i install this? i cannot even find it under apps.
  14. did you ever find an answer to this? i am having same issue.
  15. anyway to add the route to the network config file on the flash drive?
  16. thanks for the detailed response, exactly what I was looking for. the other thing is all these directories are already on all my data disks. if I now say want all HD movies on disk 1, it will be hard to move them as I only have one spare. to swap files to.
  17. Hey guys, going to start dumping all my movies and stuff on to my array. Quick question about setting up the user shares. I have multiple hard drives that i need to copy and they are set up like this: HD Movies Bluray Movies 3d Bluray Movies 4k Movies Should i just create one user share called media and drop all the directories in there? or should i create a HD Movies share, a Bluray Movies share, etc? Also, when i copy the files, i paste them right into the user shares right? if anyone can help, would really like to start moving files
  18. hoped it was a browser issue with the route not saving in chrome. Tried Firefox, same thing. After reboot, no internet connection until i add route. Anyone?
  19. hey guys, got this working. The only way it would work was by adding a route. The only problem is upon reboot, this is gone. Anyway to make this stick when rebooting?
  20. is there a step by step to install Plex Media Server? i install it but it cannot find my server.
