How to mount Read only
I"m recovering from a flash drive failure. Using unassigned drives app, it says, "Mount all the disks read-only in turn. You need to use the Read-only mode to avoid any changes to the drive that will invalidate parity." How do I mount it Read Only. I can't find how? Thanks.

Dead USB Drive No backup - help please
Hi I messed up and would like your help. The USB drive for my Unraid server is fried and I can't see anything on it. I don’t have a screen print of the configuration either. I know duh! I’d like some help finding a way to at least recover the information that's on the hard drives. I commissioned my server earlier this year, so I probably have Unraid version 6.12.8 but I'm not sure. I don't know if Unraid has automatic updating. If it does then I probably set it to automatically update. a few days ago, the server just stopped and it was unresponsive, not on the network nothing. I tried to re boot the serve and tried all the options, no gui, no apps, etc. to no avail. I have Docker installed with homebridge and Home Assistant. Scryped is on a virtual machine. My hardware configuration is below. The Seagate 12 TB drive is the parity drive. I think the WD 1 TB is the where the apps are, I think, but not sure. The WD 2 TB SSD is not a cache drive. · CPU Intel Core i5-12600K 3.7 GHz 10-Core Processor · Motherboard Asus ROG STRIX B760-I GAMING WIFI Mini ITX LGA1700 Motherboard · Storage · Western Digital Black SN850X 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive · Western Digital Black SN850X 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive · Toshiba N300 10 TB 3.5" 7200 RPM Internal Hard Drive · Western Digital Red Plus 10 TB 3.5" 7200 RPM Internal Hard Drive · Seagate IronWolf Pro 12 TB 3.5" 7200 RPM Internal Hard Drive I'm hoping someone can help me out.

Microsoft File Explorer Not Finding Shared Folders After Reboot
Hi. I'm new to Unraid and don't know if anyone else has encountered this. I had to reboot my server and it came back up, the next morning I opened MS file explorer to look at the share drives, which had been visible before rebooting and I could not see them. I searched for solutions on the forum & web and didn't find anything that looked reasonable, so I opened Unraid, went to Shares, opened appdate share and changed Export to No, then changed Export to Yes. The server and all of its exported shares showed up. tower-diagnostics-20231223-1210.zip

Disk Storage Configuration Help
dboonthego, thank you for your response, it is very helpful. Sorry you had the trailing slash/ experience. I have a 2 tb ssd (main disk) that I would use as the cache disk (a Pool disk?). I will create some docker containers for home automation, and from what you said, I should install them on the cache disk. I'll correct the naming of the disk configuration. Is this right? HDD 1 (12tb): Array Parity Disk HDD 2 (10tb): Array Non-parity Disk HDD 3 (10 tb): Project Data Disk SSD 1 (2 tb): Cache disk I presume there is a process for "backing up" the Project Data. Would that be a move script?

Disk Storage Configuration Help
BTW, I'm a novice, obviously, at this. Maybe I'm not understanding. If I have a separate drive (Drive 3) that stores Project Data and backup Drive 3 to the unraid pool, essentially Drive 1 & 2, then I would have two copies, one on Drive 3 and one on redundant Drives 1/2?

Disk Storage Configuration Help
Hi. I'm building my first NAS server and I have a question about how I setup my drivers. I have a SSD as the main drive to be used for caching as I understand it. I have three HDDs (12, 10, 10). I will use the system to back up multiple laptops and store data that will only exist on the NAS server (let's call this Project Data). I'm not sure how to set this up. Do I set this up as: Drive 1 (12): Parity Drive in pool Drive 2 (10): 2nd pool drive Drive 3 (10): Project Data I guess I would back up the Laptops to unraid (Drive 1 and 2) and back up Drive 3 to unraid. Am I thinking this correctly?
