Any possibilities or experience using and configureing sock5 proxy as defualt connection preference?

Does unRaid support socks5 proxy connections within its own system defualt connection settings? I would like to use that setup instead of the more common less secure http proxy and don't want to have to hassle with VPN connections setup from host to client once my Nas is ready for hosting whatever. Besides that option if using a VPN for system defualt from point A host to VPN server point B and then client point C, does the client themselves need to use the same protocol to get from point C to B then to A? Also If not needed, my host I would be assuming would be encrypted from point A to B but not after point B to C is that a correct evaluation?
