  1. Older threads were for older hardware. I genuinely wanted to reboot to passthru hardware, but it got stuck. Anyway, the issue is with pikvm, whenever the EDID is messed up in pikvm, it makes unraid unbootable. I fixed the issue with pikvm and unraid booted well. Thank you for taking time to reply! @JorgeB @trurl
  2. Its not available on the unraid app store but your video and website says so
  3. Yes!. And it also gets stuck here -- I have also tried all usb 2 and usb 3 ports on the rear side of the motherboard. It gets stuck in the same place in all the ports, so I don't think its bad ports. Additionally all other usb peripherals work fine. To make it boot into unraid Ill have to restart multiple times and be lucky that one time it may boot properly which happens rarely. Or ill have to leave the system turned off for a long duration, then come back and turn on to reboot without issues. Also, "sdb" is my unraid flash drive, if that helps. And I dont know where "protocol family" is which is another location where it is getting stuck, like shown in the above image.
  4. I even recreated the flashdrive and copied over the config folder. It still gets stuck at "sdb"
  5. 2nd reboot and all the consecutive reboots get stuck here -- I took a backup of my old flash drive by using this method -- https://docs.unraid.net/unraid-os/manual/changing-the-flash-device/ and flashed it with unraid usb creator and then the issue still persists. I even went inside the BIOS like the last time where I thought it would fix the issue but it did not.
  6. I bought a new samsung bar plus and it still gets stuck at "sdb" shown in the image
  7. Someone told me fastboot could cause issues. So I went into the bios to see it was already disabled and exited the bios without making any changes. After this bios exit, my unraid booted without issues, it wasnt getting stuck anymore. The only other thing I did was restart my pikvm, I dont know how that would be related to unraid though. So is a bad flash drive still a possibility after the above information?
  8. I entered my activation key and it said error and didnt change to pro key. I then decided to restart to see if changes reflected but instead it is stuck on boot.
  9. I am running unraid on DG31PR motherboard with core2duo. Can someone please tell me why openmediavault and truenas scale will work without issues but unraid has issues with docker for my hardware? In this very same unraid machine I am able to download at 56 MB/s with qbitorrent but updating and installing docker containers are such a pain. They take so long and as you see from the image only 71% completed and it skipped to the next step. They are constantly at "apply update" and wont update. I just paid for unraid and deeply disappointed even docker containers wont work properly on unraid while they can personally work with OMV and truenas scale without issues. What is exactly the issue here? Edit0: I can ping github.com from unraid terminal and even after removing jellyfin docker and reinstalling it , the "apply update" is still seen. marcus-diagnostics-20240118-1715.zip
  10. Hi! I'm trying to understand if there will be a bandwidth difference between Asmedia ASM1166 PCIe gen3 x2 slot card and Asmedia ASM1166 PCIe gen3 x1 slot card?
  11. When you say "bandwidth", do you mean the drive speed connected to the card or do you mean the number of drives connected to the card? If you mean the number of drives, then is that the only drawback with the ASM1166 because I just need 6 ports and not more. I'm wondering if an LSI card has other benefits
  12. Can you please tell me what is the downside of having ASM1166 pcie x1 rather than a full blown pcie x16 LSI card? I fail to understand this
  13. 1. Will 6.13 have all OpenZFS features in the unraid webgui? 2. Will 6.13 have all OpenZFS features in the cli if not in the unraid webgui??
  14. I can get USB 2.0 rated drives. So is this the best option than getting a USB 3.0 and plugging into USB 2.0? I was under the impression, the newer usb 3.0 had better endurance. Is this notion wrong?
  15. When you say USB 2.0 are recommended, do you mean USB 3.0 drives plugged into the USB 2.0 slot or the actual USB 2.0 rated flash drives at retail?
  16. Does this tutorial (https://github.com/Pavo-IM/Hackinabox) work with the latest i9 cpu and latest unraid ? Can anyone please tell me this?
  17. Does MacOS backup (all types of backup) and restore work reliably for UrBackup?
  18. I only see snapshot feature requests in other sections of the forum. But native VM backup and restore is just as important and a basic functionality.
  19. Can you please tell me why there is no emphasis on VM backup and restore? I see you are giving importance to snapshots but why not a basic functionality of backup and restore? Both the community plugins in the app store cause a server crash or the project is dead. Why not give a roadmap whether VM backup and restore will at least me implemented in 6.13 or 6.14? PS: please do not tell me to use veeam backup or some proprietary backing up solution. Unraid uses a type 1 hypervisor and no other type 1 hypervisor in the market asks its users to backup via veeam. It also becomes a real hassle to backup linux, freebsd and macos based VMs or there is no way yet to backup.
  20. Kindly please include native VM backup, restore and snapshot because both of the community plugins are in beta, dead or cause a complete server crash. Please, We are imploring you for a basic functionality feature of backup, restore and snapshot.

Hi! ZFS is a great addition and it is the way to go! Any idea if VM snapshots and backup being added to 6.13?
  22. Can you please validate your answer with proof that VM snapshots etc are being introduced in 6.13? There is no news as such in the forums
  23. This definitely isnt the only reason one might choose to virtualize unraid on proxmox... But please browse through reddit, proxmox forums and other forums and you'll understand that it is the predominant reason that it pushes a user to use proxmox with unraid. Additionally, I mentioned both snapshots and backups are essential not just backups. Another thing, I'm really sorry, asking me to backup windows VM like any other windows machine is kind of corporate doublespeak for an essential feature that is not implemented. And windows VM is not the only VM an average user could be using. They could be using macos too and using proprietary tool for windows, macos and other VMs is a cumbersome process and definitely not an ideal way someone would backup a VM. The community backup plugins which are in beta for more than 2 years, too have issues and you can read about them in this very same forum. A lot of them wish to run unraid bare metal, I mean the ones who virtualize unraid. And that could be a possibility only if there is native backup and snapshot support.
  24. I don't understand why the developers force us on having reliance on other software. Unraid devs simply force us users to using proxmox because there is no native VM backup and snapshot. Multiple unraid array pools is kind of a luxury to have with present options already available but native VM backup and snapshot is a necessity. There is complete lack of ignorance and no proper support for VMs by not giving us native VM backup and snapshot. This is the only reason why people virtulize unraid with proxmox. I love unraid and the thank the devs for their work but I'm deeply disappointed in this aspect. I hope this constructive feedback finds y'all well.
