I remember a while back AMD was generally not recommended. The high idle power consumption and intel transcoding for plex being the main issue? I have an 8700g in an office PC that seems to idle just as low and have a much better GPU. Considering upgrading from a C246 system with a 28 watt idle with 18 drives. Will transcoding work with this igpu? What would the idle power consumption of a cheap gpu like a p620 add?

I have a problem with this. It works fine untill the server is restarted. Then despite being enabled, autofan doesn't work. The first PWM is always on disabled as its for the CPU. PWM2 is enabled, but they don't function untill I cycle something and disable/enable the plugin again. Which has led to 65C drives without me knowing untill it is too late. How do I resolve this?

I've got this running but whenever I try to open a game it just silently fails. Log says INFO reaped unknown pid 6293 (exit status 0) Different PID but that over and over.

This has taken far too long. Initially started with a just trim 20mm of there and 30mm off the top, but has been endless "It'll be finished tomorrow", multiple redesigns, adjustments, new parts, holes, tapped holes, new part locations and it still isn't finished as the lid wouldn't go on with the front. C246M, E2186G, 64GB ECC, 2x ASM1166, 15x 3.5" drives, 5x 2.5", RM750X.

The above AMD system was measured with a power meter. The C246 previously was using the UPS, I've since worked out that only measures in increments of 7w. It was saying 21w most of the time idled down, but the same system on the power meter shows 30w. This is 15x 3.5" 2x 2.5", 3x 2.5" SSDs, C246M, Xeon E-2186G, 64GB ECC running on an RM750X. 22% in C8 pkg.

Do USB sticks make much difference to pkg state? On the C246M it only goes to C8, even with everything bar the usb stick removed and turned off in the bios.

Considering swapping my C246 system to an AMD 8700G. Only concern is how would I share the GPU resources between plex and multiple VMs like GPU-P? Rather not assign it to a single vm permanently.

Another data point for everyone. AM5 Ryzen 7 8700G Asrock B650M-HDV/M.2 CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 2x32GB 6000mhz running at 4800. 90mm Fan Kingston DTSE9 USB Stick HDPlex 250w GaN AIO PSU Booted into unraid, opened powertop, set all to good, turned the screen off, unplugged USBs - 12w idle. Powertop only shows C3 for the pkg? Same PC running windows and a browser from a 970 Evo NVME at 4k 120hz is 22watts.

I had 1 pci and 1 nvme to asm1166 6 satas for 12 ports. The NVME would drop out at random after a restart, it would need removing, reinstalling and it would come back. Swapped the nvme for another pci version, was working ok, restarted and they both dropped out. Turned it off, unplugged, plugged them back in and they come back. Has anyone come across this issue before? MB is a Gigabyte C246M-WU4

Got a project I'm working on and there is apace for a long/thin screen in the front of the case and by chance I have a waveshare one somewhere. It is HDMI, how would I make this work? Just to show temps, fan speed etc.

Apologies if this is a dumb question but I can't find an answer. I have a windows 11 VM with no internet access via a custom VLAN bridge with no gateway, but now realised I need to be able to move files between the VM and other PCs on the network. I've added the share in the unraid settings but nothing comes up when I type the IP address in file explorer, assuming due to the above. What's the best way to give the VM local access to a share but make sure it can't reach the internet in anyway?

1 is pcie which didn't stop working. Assume the diagnostic should have been taken when it wasn't working? There were no lights on the board, almost like it had no power.

Has anyone had issues with the ASM1166 NVME adaptors? Updated to 7, after a restart the ASM1166 NVME-6x Sata seems to have stopped working, along with another port/drive. Upon restart the single missing drive came back but the ASM1166 doesn't come on anymore. it seems to have come back on again after starting with it removed, shutting down and refitting.
