  1. Hi Folks I got started on Unraid and then got horribly stuck. I need a proper manual for newbies for UNRAID 7 and a good you tube video that explains what it all does, and the settings. its super hard for non-IT people to use. Is UNRAID 7 actually stable and ready for use? I want to wipe my server and start again from scratch installing UNRAID 7 on a new pair of USB's
  2. It is the one I used to get to nearly the end before failing when the key was being replaced. I don’t believe the manual method is written up properly in fact. It would benefit from some screenshots and what was particularly confusing was what the usb disk files need to look like once the usb creator or manual method worked. I will try this manual method again.

  4. I managed to boot with my original usb and so I am back to square one. Trying to replace my old usb with two identical new USB devices so that if one fails, I have a back up taped to the unraid nas that I can just replace. it’s impossible to find 32gb usb 2.0 sticks in Australia. I have now spent over $40 on usb sticks and none seem to work. I don’t think the USB creator tools work either. I am on day 2 trying to do what is supposed to be simple. and I have not even got into using unraid yet. I must admit the experience so far has been horrible. what are the current low profile mini usb sticks that are recommended as of today? The info on the unraid site is outdated. Those sticks are not available in 2024 and quite frankly I don’t know why unraid does not sell their software on a pair of sticks and offer to sell replacements. Or at least sell sticks in their merch store?
  5. After spending hours trying to back up flash drive on several different usb sticks, I finally managed to get to the replace key only to get the following message upon confirming replace key. The Unraid USB creator tool does not seem to work, neither does the connect online stuff Error: {"message":"Request failed with status code 406","data":{"error":"Missing field in request"}}
  6. I stopped the docker and vm manager and have three options IP4 dns server 103.16.128.53 ip4 dns server 2 ipvdns server 3 do I place the once in the post above into 2 and 3?
  7. plugin: installing: community.applications.plg Executing hook script: pre_plugin_checks plugin: downloading: community.applications.plg ... plugin: community.applications.plg download failure: Network failure Executing hook script: post_plugin_checks
  8. I am also having trouble connecting to the network to get community applications installed

  10. Hi Folks I am a total newbie to Unraid, I bought it this weekend to start up a NAS I built 1 year ago and had on TRUENAS, but could never figure out how to get connected via windows despite reading everything (lots of assumed understandings in the networking world that beginners don't get), until I by chance, saw a video where a guy did it. It seemed illogical so hearing how Unraid was easier, I just bought it. I started my server and in the PARITY section the Parity sync is in progress at 91.5% But in the array section my array has the message "Array has two failed devices" and the status on my two parity drives is "invalid" but Smart says they are healthy. I am letting it continue, because it hs been the whole night like that, but I am no longer sure if I set something up incorrectly. The beginners guide was helpful to a degree but did not really explain enough. Cheers Kelso
