  1. 2. With "Spin Up" all drives in the array spin up nicely, doing a "Spin Down" after that all drives except the last one (disk9 in my case) are spun down. It looks like the counter is one too short...
  3. There are a couple of corrections/modifications made by Limetech which need to be ported to SimpleFeatures as well... Things will only get better
  4. It is a common thing for Linux to take most of your memory for caching purposes. This is dynamically released when needed by applications. No need to worry, you have plenty of free memory available.
  5. There is a forum feedback section, you can use it to bring in new ideas or other observations... Finding certain information may be challenging at times indeed !
  6. Your resolv.conf file shows your router (10.0.0.138) acting as a DNS proxy. If that intentional ? Normal practise for DNS proxing is to hide the external DNS addresses, but you are doing both... # Generated by dhcpcd from eth0 # /etc/resolv.conf.head can replace this line domain lan nameserver 193.213.112.4 nameserver 130.67.15.198 nameserver 10.0.0.138 # /etc/resolv.conf.tail can replace this line You can set on your unRAID system (for testing) fixed DNS entries. For example use the ones of openDNS.org: 208.67.222.222 208.67.220.220 Btw Perhaps rebooting your router as suggested by dgaschk may solve your problem...
  7. How do you have your DNS entry configured? Is this set to "automatic" (= supplied by DHCP) or a static entry ? An easy way to check if DNS is working is to perform a 'named' ping from the server. For example: ping www.akamai.com
  8. The reference which was given is that SF version 1.0.5 now follows the unRAID V5 plugin structure, that is using *.plg (XML) files for installation. The "old" system is based on packages which are either loaded during boot up (when placed in /boot/extra) or are installed via the go file (installpkg command). I guess you misunderstood...
  9. Well maybe you should study how the plugin structure works, then you will find out that each plugin itself can determine where it wants to place itself, either in an existing section or a complete new section. Sorting sequence can also be indicated by the plugin. This is an intended design functionality of the GUI, there is NOTHING that SimpleFeatures can change about that ! You either adjust the plugin yourself or you ask the plugin developper to make a modification... I can't be clearer than that Having said that, it is both a blessing and a curse to have this freedom in plugin creation. The danger exists that each developper creates his own section, literally cluttering the interface. Would be an idea that some guidelines (and perhaps default sections) are given by Limetech...
  10. As mentioned by trurl; Limetech created the squeeze box plugin. It is the mother of all plugins... There is no separate documentation available, but studying and reading the squeeze box plugin (it contains explanations about the different sections) can help you on your way.
  11. Potential problems can only be restored (recovered) when doing a long format. If you have a bad stick then a quick format won't help you.
  12. That's right, your system will be the same as before with the additional drives available... You can't view or edit the key files, it really doesn't matter where you keep the copy. Just keep it safe
  13. So what systems are accessing your server? Likely something is trying to retrieve more than just the directory listing...
  14. All the settings of unRAID are stored in the folder "config". When you copy that complete folder over, you will have exactly the same setup as before... (corrected typos)
  15. Joe, you have a long history Baudot code, that is ancient... in those days they couldn't even count to 8 bits
  16. Did you actually use a real vt100 as a terminal? ( I did, and many older terminals that preceded it, as it replaced a mechanical TTY ) I am afraid I am that old school... started even with a VT52
  17. The key is bound to the USB stick, you will need to replace your existing stick with the one you have received. You can copy files over if required... Tip: copy the file "Pro.key" to another location so you have a backup in case a reformat of the USB stick is required!
  18. You are telling me that you haven't seen these new icons before? We are using them for almost a year already... And well, we like them
  19. Looking at the history, we know something will be coming... (perhaps not in the pace we like to see)
  20. The original icons: Are replaced by: In versions of SimpleFeatures since v1.0b3 (February 2012) Ps. this also includes the other settings icons (not displayed here)
  21. SF overwrites the AFP, NFS, SMB icons (this happens in all versions). Your browser cache is playing tricks on you!. Best is to clear your browser cache after installation. There is no need for squeezeserver to be integrated into SF. It should be able to run by itself...
  22. There is an issue between the current sleep plugin and some browsers. It is corrected in the upcoming version, yeh I keep saying that You should be able to use the sleep button on the main page. If it is not visible, go to the display settings page and change the setting "Show sleep button" to yes. You are issuing the now depreciated command, that's why the error message...
  23. SimpleFeatures installs new icons - overwriting the stock ones. This goes together with the "theme" we have chosen for SF. Whether a plugin shows up after reboot is not related to SimpleFeatures but to the plugin itself. Check with the creator of squeezeserver how to do the set up.
