  1. The reason why I was asking is because I want to make sure I backup the configuration of the docker application. More specifically the port number and such. Are these settings saved anywhere persistent?
  2. So how can I locate it?
  3. I just installed a docker container using a repository rather than the CA store. I expected the container to reside in the appdata folder, but it is nowhere to be found. Where could it be?
  4. Please help me set up Unraid so that I can use hardware encoding/decoding with Intel Core i9-14900K. Unraid 6.12.10 Intel Core i9-14900K No dedicated GPU Plex official docker image I would also like to use QS for other applications as well.
  5. There is no option to select a vendor. I am using an Intel CPU: Intel Core i9-14900K. It should support Intel Quick Sync Video.
  6. I managed to solve this issue by increasing the available storage for docker apps. But I am not sure if this is "best practice". I mean, there might be something consuming space over time, but I am not sure how to troubleshoot that.
  7. I am trying to update a binhex docker app and I get the error message: Error: failed to register layer: write /usr/lib/udev/hwdb.bin: no space left on device What should I do? I thought 20 GB should be more than enough.
  8. OK, I copied over /config/plugins/dockerMan once again, and I got it to work. Thanks guys! For future Unraiders the solution was namely to do as jorgeB mentioned, but more specifically: Copy the contents of the backed-up appdata to the production version of appdata Copy the contents of config/plugins/dockerMan from your backed-up flash drive to /config/plugins/dockerMan on the production flash drive. Re-create the docker image file. Re-install the previous docker applications
  9. Yes, I did, but I haven't rebooted. Is it necessary?
  10. Ok so I tried to go to previous apps, but only some show up. These are the apps I installed from scratch before attempting to restore tye previous docker apps.
  11. I am confused. The first article? Where does it explain that?
  12. What does that mean? Install them again manually?
  13. I did that. At least re-create the docker image file. Still nothing.
  14. The list of Docker installs is blank, but I have copied the app data content from the backup. What's going on? I also copied everything under \config\plugins\dockerMan to the flash drive and rebooted. What am I missing?
  15. Do I need to shut down everything, take out the stick, transfer the files, and put it back in? Or is there a simpler way?
  16. Thanks for the instant help @JorgeB Much appreciated! I am still a beginner Unraider so please help me understand: Where can I find /config/plugins/dockerMan What is a custom docker network? I don't remember setting up one. Although I did pass some docker networks to another using --net=container:XYZ
  17. I will do that later today if I have time. I forgot to say I also got rid of the LSI HBA card. So now the array is connected directly to the motherboard. Do you, by any chance, know where in the logs I should look to troubleshoot SMB issues? I mean, there is probably not much help digging into the logs if none of this is actually logged.
  18. I recently reinstalled Unraid because I was having some problems. I still have the appdata folder and I have restored it, but now Unraid says the configuration files cannot be found. I still have a flash backup, but I don't know which file/s I need to restore the configuration file/s for the docker images. Also, it would be very helpful if we had a guide on how to backup docker images. It was my impression that simply backing up data was enough, but it seems it is not.
  19. I am still having this issue. What I have tried: Copy using Robocopy (same issue) Copy from a different disk (same issue) Copy from a different computer (tried a physical computer instead of the VM in Unraid (same issue) Tried different Windows versions (10 and 11). (same issue) Connected the source disk directly to the SATA port on my motherboard instead of using a docking station. (same issue) Made a new share on another disk on the array, just in case there is something wrong with that particular disk. (same issue) Reinstalled Unraid (but with the same array and shares). (same issue) Connected computers with quality LAN cables. I am kind of out of ideas. Any help would be much appreciated. It's already taking forever to transfer terabytes of data to the array. Having the SMB freeze for minutes at a time surely does not help. 😥
  20. I managed to answer my own question. For future Unraiders: Open the terminal in Unraid. Enter ls -l /dev/disk/by-id/ Look for the drive you want to mount and copy the name beginning with data... In my case ata-WDC_WD221KFGX-21C2LE0_... Don't forget to include the ata at the beginning. Edit your Windows VM Add a 2nd vDisk Location Set it to Manual Enter the full path to your drive. For example /dev/disk/by-id/ata-WDC_WD221KFGX-68B9KN0...
  21. How can I pass through a 3.5" hard drive that is connected to the motherboard directly to a Windows VM? I need it to be RAW, I guess, because the drive is BitLocker-protected.
  22. Ok. So here is what I have tried: Changed the line to just pcie_aspm=off Shut down Unraid. Restarted. Installed a new Windows 11 VM with the same settings as the previous VM with Windows 10 LTSC. I am trying the consumer version now. It's the same issue. The speed goes down to 0, and then, after a minute or two, it's back again. I am out of ideas and it is getting late. Maybe tomorrow I will try: Copy files from a drive without BitLocker Copy files to a cache drive Copy files to another share but on the array But I am really shooting in the dark over here. 😢
  23. Thanks for the suggestion. However, decrypting the drive will take forever, and I will have to wipe it afterward to stay secure, so it's not really a practical option. I also have multiple drives with TBs of data. Did you look at the other thread I linked? Do you think it could be the culprit here? In the meantime, I am going to try another VM; perhaps the latest Windows 11 will work better...
  24. Correct. I changed it as you suggested.
