Dynamix - V6 Plugins
Could the @unraid team please reflect this on the plugin's "about"? Also, I'd be very happy, if this could be incorporated: https://github.com/lm-sensors/lm-sensors/issues/167 I have exactly that chip, but since the driver, outlined there, is not available fan control does not work for me. Thanks.

Installing 'knockd' on OS Level (no VM, no Docker)
Now, that's interesting... Thanks for the pointer!

Firefox on unRAID GUI mode: no load/save dialogs
I only have a Smartphone, currently, and I miss the 24" screen-size and mouse/keyboard. That's all.

Installing 'knockd' on OS Level (no VM, no Docker)
I see. But why would I add so many layers of complexity? As stated, I have no way to compile from source in the foreseeable future. Containerizing would still require to build a binary from source. I would need to set up a docker. Which would also mean for me, that I'd need to learn much more about Docker, than I am currently interested in. One of the reasons for me to purchase an unRAID license was to plug'N'play as much as possible, since I just don't have the time anymore for deep-level system administration and constant up-to-datism with the developments. Not knowing Docker internals I can only guess, but so far, each image I installed came with over a 100 MB of data, where the 'knock' package stays below 200 KB when installed from a binary package direct-to-host. Adding another software-layer to something as security-sensitive/critical and simple like 'kockd' escapes me.

I don't understand what you are saying. Could you explain further?

Firefox on unRAID GUI mode: no load/save dialogs
Hi, I'd need to load/save tab sessions for Firefox, so I can reload them after rebooting the server. The reason is, that I use Firefox to browse the unRAID forums and different documentations, while configuring my system locally. However, as soon I want to open a load/save dialog in Firefox, nothing happens. Is there anything I could do about this? I would save my session to the array or an external disk.

Installing 'knockd' on OS Level (no VM, no Docker)
Hi, I want to install the port-knocking demon 'knockd'. Since I want to use it to control an outside connection to my server, I need to install it on operating system level. There is a Slackware package for it on https://slackbuilds.org/. Slackbuilds does not serve binaries, however, so all I would get is the Slackbuild, that configures the build of the original source archive for use in Slack. unRAID does not have a development environment (gcc, etc.) installed and I don't want that, either. Currently, I have also no other computer as my smartphone. What can I do? Anyone, who knows of a compatible binary distribution of 'knockd'? Wouldn't it make sense for @limetech to inlcude 'knockd' as default? Thanks, Andreas

Did you find a solution? I got a Sonoff ZigBee USB Coordinator at that path but I get this: root@nas:/mnt/user/appdata/zigbee2mqtt/log/2024-06-11.13-34-06# cat log.log [2024-06-11 13:34:06] info: z2m: Logging to console, file (filename: log.log) [2024-06-11 13:34:06] info: z2m: Starting Zigbee2MQTT version 1.38.0 (commit #fe048e6) [2024-06-11 13:34:06] info: z2m: Starting zigbee-herdsman (0.49.2) [2024-06-11 13:34:06] error: zh:zstack:znp: Failed to determine if path is valid: 'Error: ENOENT: no such file or directory, lstat '/dev/ttyACM0'' [2024-06-11 13:34:06] info: zh:zstack:znp: Opening SerialPort with {"path":"/dev/ttyACM0","baudRate":115200,"rtscts":false,"autoOpen":false} [2024-06-11 13:34:06] error: z2m: Error while starting zigbee-herdsman [2024-06-11 13:34:06] error: z2m: Failed to start zigbee [2024-06-11 13:34:06] error: z2m: Check https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/guide/installation/20_zigbee2mqtt-fails-to-start.html for possible solutions [2024-06-11 13:34:06] error: z2m: Exiting... Thanks. On a sidenote: I found the orphaned container (as mentioned in my previous post) and now know, that I have to reinstall it.

Hi, since I found no way to have my Sonoff ZBDongle-E get recognized by zigbee2mqtt (Home Assistant immediately found it without using zigbee2mqtt), as a last resort, I tried to add a device path to the zigbee2mqtt settings. This resulted in a failed restart of the container. But now the zigbee2mqtt container has gone from the installed containers list in unRAID. Physically, it is still there. It's just, that unRAID forgot about it. (In the end I would like to run openHAB with this dongle, using zigbee2mqtt) How can I make unRAID become aware, that zigbee2mqtt container is installed? Like, re-registering it without re-installing it. Another problem I have is with the IP. Sometimes I get a reply from that IP, sometimes not. I would like to run the container with the same IP as my unRAID host is known to the network, using a port of my choice. How can I achieve this? Thanks.

Update Docker XML from script
For future reference: The concept of XML is not being a text file, that gets edited with text tools (like sed, awk) but an in-memory tree of nodes. Therefore it makes most sense to use the tools, that have been crafted for XML. To get an overview of some light-weight XML tools, I'd recommend to read this article over at Baeldung.com. I think, at least "xidel" can also update in-place and write back to the XML file in question. Should make these things easier.

Nice! Will have to wait for the update, then. Thanks.

Future Unraid Feature Desires
Many users disagree Should check the forums in other languages. As soon as you have umlauts in the file/folder names, even last-resort maintenance can become a pain. As for TZ, yes, I have seen this. But the time in the GUI's status bar is still showing AM/PM. Checking 'date' in the command-line, however, shows the right TZ. So this must be something with the used GUI host.

Future Unraid Feature Desires
Hi, as a new user to unRAID, residing in Germany I would like to use the German locale throughout the system, especially for keyboard, numbers and timezone on a system level, being permanent. I am surprised, that this has not been implemented yet, considering the age of this project! My feature-request, therefore, would be to have an easy way to permanently change at least the keyboard. Nota bene: I use English for the WebUI and will continue doing so, since this way I can more easily communicate any issues with the forum and support. This is just about the system-wide keyboard and TZ, both CLI and GUI level. Thank you. P.S. There is lots of information on this on the forum and on Reddit, but it is often dated, and/or involves Slackware administration. I don't want to administer the system 'from the side', since I fear ending up with a broken system.

Tips and Tweaks Plugin to possibly improve performance of Unraid and VMs
My post was meant for the admins, since they should do something about the 404. Maybe create a page explaining why the wiki is no more.

In the first reply to your opening post, by @RobJ. And then later in some signature (or so), if memory serves me right.

Tips and Tweaks Plugin to possibly improve performance of Unraid and VMs
Hello, the links to the "Tips and Tweaks" Wiki end in a "404". Could that be fixed or a special page be placed, that informs the user, why that Wiki has gone? Thank you.
