Lincstation N1 as the machine for everything?
I need to buy a new computer soon. I need Windows 11, a lot of storage and if possible a media server as well. Can the Lincstation N1 be the solution for all my needs? Or am I hoping to much? I will only be doing one task at the time, so I will launch Windows 11 in a VM when I do my online banking, and then close that VM before I start casting videos. I won't need any parity disks. I am backing up my files in the cloud and also on two external USB hard drives connected to my current laptop, the plan is to attach the external hard drives to the Lincstation N1 instead. If that works I will still have 3 backups (cloud + HDD + HDD). Can I use the Lincstation N1 as a desktop computer and connect keyboard, display and mouse? Can I use a Linux machine and connect to the Lincstation N1 remotely, open up a Windows 11 VM machine, and use Windows 11 on the Linux machine like a thin client? It would be really helpful if there is anyone with experience from using the Lincstation N1 who can find the time to share info about these matters! If there is any unRAID user who can say I've done that (some or all of the above), it worked for me, then I can make a better decision if I should go ahead and order the Lincstation N1 or try something else.

Can I stream video files from unraid to my TV (via Chromecast)
Thanks Hernandito! II haven't still not started using unRAID, so I installed the Plex app on my Chromecast and the Plex server application on my Windows 10 laptop. It is possible to cast from Plex server on the laptop to the Chromecast, but I had to install the Plex app on my Android phone to access the Plex server and browse through the media library on the laptop and start the playback on the phone (the TV and the laptop is located in separate rooms). When the playback has started I can put he phone away and pause, rewind and fast forward with the Chromecast remote. This is very convinient! Now I'm considering a Lincstation N1, the size makes it easy to find a location near the TV. I suppose it is possible to connect the Lincstation N1 and the TV with a HDMI cable if casting over WiFi isn't working for some reason. So my advice to the original poster is to try casting from the unRAID machine with Plex, and if casting over WiFi doesn't work, try instead to connect the unRAID machine and the TV with a HDMI cable (if the device has the connectors).

Can I stream video files from unraid to my TV (via Chromecast)
Hi! I am not an unraid user yet, I'm only looking for info about how to use unraid as a NAS and media server and what hardware will meet my needs. So please be patient with me... My first thought when reading this post was if there is any way you can run Google Chrome browser on your unraid machine (with docker or in an os in a VM) then you can cast any file to your chromecast with Google Chrome: Cast a Chrome tab on your TV I would appreciate so much if any unraid user can verify there is a way to cast from unraid to chromecast directly without using a 3rd device like a smartphone. Then I can hide the unraid machine out of sight and my wife can use the Chromecast remote (she doesn't like touchscreens).
