    UPS

can this network protocol interact with non-Linux (i.e. Windows) box ??
  2. And the card works well... I have two of them in my system... pulled the glacially-slow-booting Adaptec 1430's for these...
  3. Have you looked at the free offering from Sun called Virtual Box ?
  4. Whatever... no more Crucial for me.... don't need companies like that...
  5. Funny how experiences can differ... I have requested SO many RMA's from Crucial on their Ballistix DDR2-800 Cas4 ram that I've lost count - and tossed all of the many sticks in the trash... and before you get into the performance ram issues and increased Vdimm required, I was running all of this stuff per the Type1 Jedec SPD ratings: DDr2-667 at 1.8V stock. Lately I've switched to PNY sticks and never looked back.
  6. Too bad we can't dispense with the Adaptec 1430sa's bios chip alltogether and use native chipset support....
  7. Clicking in this context USUALLY means the drive is doing a re-cal, USUALLY because it lost its servo position... =BAD
  8. you can hardly go wrong with a card based in the SiliconImage chips... 3132?
  9. Doesn't sound good to me... I think I'd be asking for an RMA...
  10. But always at 88%?? Don't remember the details, but I have seen the 88% hang on Seagate 1tb as well.... Jim
  11. I take it we're on opposite sides of the "pond" :P
  12. Let me know if your AB9 becomes disposable...
  13. Also, be careful about populating all 4 memory slots on your motherboard... SOME mb's don't like this and when you read the fine print, they often recommend under-clocking your sticks when you do this... i.e. an Asus 965 based MB will tell you for 4 sticks to use 667mhz instead of 800 mhz. In reality, this often ends up being a 1x clock from the FSB and actuall improves memory performance overall !!
  14. no experience with this precisely, but as an EE I can say you should have no problems as long as the wall-wart ahs the current rating you need...
  15. thanks for that, BubbaQ !!
  16. let me know if the Adaptec cards go up for sale !!
  17. I suspect these users had "other" operator err.. - excuse me - hardware problems, since my two servers, bothe equipeed with Corsair 750TX's work perfectly and don't skip a beat... and I had an OCZ 650 in one of the servers (with loads properly distributed) and it would occasionally shut down when I hit "SPIN UP ALL DRIVES"... 13 SATA drives.
