So in terms of "best practice" should I be connecting as a user? At the moment the data share is published and public. So anyone on my network can see it write to it etc. I think the windows computer also connects that way. I could setup a user to have for this stuff if it is better practice though???

I'm running Tdarr in a docker container using the trashed guides. All works fine when the unraid node does the work. But when I use my Win11 Mini PC (n97) it sometimes fails. Essentially can't move the file at the end due to rights. If I go in manually and reset the permissions at the data root it will work again fine. But then it will happen again at some point. So obviously I have something configured wrong as I think new files are not getting the correct permissions. How do I set the default permissions for my data share?

I didn't take diagnostics at the time. I have current diags. When it happens next time what is the process for getting the correct diags? It will most likely need a dirty restart. If I get the diags after restart will that work?

Okay fair enough. Tried that but when I'm stopping it today it's stopping fine. (As in not in safe, just normal mode.) The only thing I did first was to dismount the SMB shares I mentioned in one of my posts above. But I've done that before and it still fails (e.g. refer my log above). So not sure it's a plugin as they are all running. Edit: Just started it and stopped it again - this time without dismounting those shares and again it stopped fine.

From time to time (maybe every 2-3 days) I will get the following errors in my syslog. They then happen every few seconds and fill up the syslog so that the gui becomes unresponsive and eventually I have to do a dirty restart. I reached out to Limetech but was told to consult this mega post. Can anyone advise what I should do? I have a Nvidia 3080 RTX. Only really use it for re-encoding with ffmpeg via a Tdarr container. Attempted this process and stuck at "Array Stopping * Sync filesystems". This is the message I've had the last few times. Nothing in the file activity monitor log (maybe I started it running too late though). Log for this shutdown. I can't really see anything strange. All VMs, dockers shutdown. Thanks. I'll give that a go. I don't want to stop the array again to test until I have a way to work out what is happening and the way to fix. So my process to test would be: * Install that plugin * Stop VMs * Stop Dockers * Stop array and if this plugin doesn't work see what happens. I also have these shares. They are to a Windows VM. On one occasion I noticed there was an issue dismounting one and then it all seemed to get in a loop that I couldn't get it out of. Is there a better way to do this? Command line to dismount those shares first (or of course use the gui)?

Is there a guide to work this out? I'm sure something is still accessing the array even after stopping docker and the vms.

Are there things that shouldn't be running when I attempt to stop the array? E.g. I had a userscript that mirrored the syslog to the array so I could see errors when it crashed. I had since setup a syslog server but think that might have been causing issues in the array stop. I've since disabled this, but imagine there are other "best practice" things that should be stopped with a script. Feel free to flick me to the manual if it's in there. I couldn't really find what I was looking for.

The diags were taken when the array wouldn't stop. So before I had to do a dirty restart.

I'm continually having a problem with stopping the array. Basically says "Array stopping Stopping services". And never goes offline. It used to work but now it doesn't. And consequently I need to restart and it does a parity check. At the moment I'm finding I need to restart every few days as something random will happen and the event log fills up and the GUI becomes unresponsive. I've performed a full memory check and all the parts are new. I'm loving most of Unraid but not too happy with its reliability in my installation.
