I plan to set up a separate VPN through which I can access my resources remotely. I would like to have Tailscale as a backup option, only for connecting to the Unraid WebUI in the case that the VPN is not working and I need to troubleshoot or fix issues on the server for my family while I'm away. Thank you for the detailed instructions! My primary goal is still to get the HTTPS Tailscale connection working if possible. I mean, it should work, right?

Sorry, could you be a bit more specific as to why this would be the way to go? Also if you have any resources in mind for learning more / how to do it, thanks in advance! This is the first time I’m reading that a reverse proxy would be needed. I just wanted to access the web GUI of my server remotely and securely and thought Tailscale with HTTPS would be sufficient.

I have now setup Tailscale on Unraid 6.12.15 and I'm able to access the web GUI remotely, but not with HTTPS. I have enabled HTTPS in Tailscale's settings and requested a cert via the Unraid CLI. I have tailscale1 added as a listening interface in Unraid Network Settings. In Tailscale admin / Machine Details, the TLS certificate shows as "Valid until 3 months from now". When I try to connect over HTTPS, I get the error "This site can’t be reached. machine.name-name.ts.net refused to connect." What could be the issue?

Is the Tailscale plugin only compatible with Unraid 7.x? I'm trying to install it to my Unraid 6.12.15 but it says the plugin is incompatible. First I couldn't find it in Community Apps but when I changed the setting to not hide incompatible applications, I was able to find the plugin but it says "incompatible". Or is there a way for me to install the plugin so that I can access my server remotely?
