Was mich an diesem Thread am meisten betroffen gemacht hat ist die Polarisierung (hater,ewig gestrige vs...). Die Welt ist nicht schwarz weiß (wäre zu einfach). Da werden Leute in eine Ecke und zur Rechtferigung gedrängt ( ich benutze auch KI). Ich halte KI eingesetzt mit dem notwendigen Fachwissen für ein mächtiges Tool. Eine konstruktive Auseinandersetzung damit bringt Fortschritt. Die Fähigkeit der KI eine Aufgabe zustellen macht uns noch lange nicht zu Profis in dem Fachgebiet der Aufgabe. Für mich ist immer noch offen wie die offensichtlich guten Ergebnisse zustande kamen da ein Beispieldialog wäre hilfreich gewesen.

Unraidprofi? Da wurde ein Dienstleister (KI) beauftragt und der Kunde ist mit der Auftragsererfüllung bis jetzt zufrieden.

Zeig doch einmal ein Problem und den Dialog um es zu lösen und die Lösung. Wäre ein pragmatischer Ansatz.

I don't think it'll really affect Unraid. The issue is if you want to run the very latest kernel, but that's mostly a thing just on client systems (desktops and laptops). On servers it's usually fine to run an older one with ZFS support, and that's what Unraid is already doing today. The hope finally dies. Good ZFS implementation is crucial for me, and power consumption is a concern for many Unraid users. (powertop, C states, HDD sleep). Hopefully Unraid will take care of it with Unraid 8.

I have my concerns regarding ZFS because Bluefin has been started to deprecheate ZFS first with Aurora at the end of this year. It's not clear what happens with their other OSes. GitHubWe will remove ZFS support starting with Fedora 45 based...This is kinda awkward as the Fedora Kernels are rather aggressive (even with a 2 week coreos delay) which does not play well with out of tree kernel modules like ZFS. S11 konnte es mit einem Bios eintrag lösen: In Powertop sieht nun wieder alles gut aus hier 😀 Zuvor konnte Powertop das Sata PowerManagement nicht korrekt setzen bzw. nur: link_power_management_policy: max_performance Das ganze war im KernelLog ersichtlich per dmesg: 0.737130] ata1: SATA max UDMA/133 abar m2048@0xa1715000 port 0xa1715100 irq 134 lpm-pol 1 ext Die Sata Hosts wurden als extern (Das ext am Ende der Zeile) behandelt, da ich diese im Bios mit Hotplug=enabled gesetzt hatte. Im älteren Kernel war die Policy für das PowerManagement und external Sata Hosts wohl nicht ganz so restriktiv. Nach umsetzen im Bios auf disabled kann powertop nun wieder /sys/class/scsi_host/host.../link_power_management_policy: med_power_with_dipm setzen. Somit sollte sich das erledigt haben bzw. das Problem waren hier zumindest Bioseinstellungen. Leider ist diese Lösung bei mir nicht möglich, da ich im bios (Dell T330) keine Enstellmöglichkeit habe. Was kann ich machen? Die Beschreibung von S11ist vollkommen deckungsgleich mit meinen Problem! mit der Bitte um Hilfe. Nachtrag: ich rede hier um den onboard Intel SATA -Controller.

Danke für dein Angebot bei mir ist folgendes Problem, ich komme definitiv nicht mehr in c3 und hänge in c2 die cpu geht problemlos in tiefere cstats und ist kein Problem wir reden hier über ca 4-5 W in idle. Für mehr info würde ich mich gerne morgen wieder melden.Danke

Danke! das war hilfreich. Leider löst es das Problem nicht, zumal hier verschiedene Probleme über einen Kamm gebürstet werden. Das mit den Dummy war nicht mein Problem.

Hallo das war (ist) ist das Problem. Ich konnte das mit einer anderen Sata Karte testen. Leider ist in meinem Dell Bios keine Möglichkeit für den onboard controller hot swap abzustellen oder ihn ganz zu auszuschalten. Falls es keine Möglichkeit gibt den Kernel zu überreden werde ich damit leben müssen. Tips sehr erwünscht! Danke

I'm missing the ZFS-Master features directly implemented in the OS because they are not maintained anymore.

Hopefully with a better ZFS GUI support.

Session time-out after xx minutes, hours, or days of inactivity has to be invented. But then the user can't do it wrong.

I had the same issue. Setting in Zfs-Master-settings the refresh intervall to 30 min could cure it. Anyhow, a not maintained, dying plugin is in the long run a problem. The interesting part of the game is the reaction from the Unraid officials (quietness). Advertising can be an alternative reality.

Hi d3m3zs, you are the new maintainer? This was hopefully not a joke. I came from T-Nas and bought a one-year license after reading the Unraid promotion "We now have ZFS". It was promising after checking it with ZFS-Master, expecting a maintenance and expansion of features. The reality.... is well known. I didn't extend my license this Black Friday because of the possibility of going back to T-Nas. My decision process isn't finalized yet. Thanks for showing it is possible to maintain.
