Just stumbled across Emby searching this forum, but so far doesn't look like it manages other devices on the network. I used Disney Circle in the past and really appreciated how you could create users, assign devices to users, and limit the amount of total usage by user. Unfortunately my Circle is 15 years old and was only 100fx and don't even think you can DL the app anymore. I just bought a 'Bark' appliance which appears to be a close match to Disney, but haven't gotten it to work after 3 weeks of back and forth with support. I think they are just dragging me out past the 30 day return policy. Looking for any suggestions now. Anything that can do what the Circle did would be ideal. I have Pi-hole doing both ad blocking and dhcp, but not a good way of pausing internet and keeping up with minecraft or roblox server IP's.
  2. Gotten this far and can't open web UI? https://github.com/muebel/gestioip-docker-compose
  3. Still not a fan of the xfs and waterfall allocation method. looks too much like JBOD to me I formatted one of the parity drives to NTFS and have it mounted, however the directory isn't available to copy files from the array to it. Any ideas?
  4. i understand the primary and secondary storage, i'm just saying it changed is all. Attached is the diagnostics, hopefully I can figure out the best configuration before the trial runs out. unraid-diagnostics-20250303-0955.zip
  5. so do i just leave everything how it is?
  6. The array and/or cache is the last of my concerns on this post. The correct setup is what i'm still waiting for. But here is a share that only shows array or cache, not both.
  7. Whatever you suggest. Just want to get this completed. I've always used raid5 or 6 so this waterfall allocation doesn't seem legit. When I set this up in a later version 6, i had the option for using array and/or cache when creating shares. This is only for home file sharing. plex repo and backups.
  8. unless there is a better alternative. I want everything in the same pool, but can't figure out how to do this after I already set it up like this. sounds like zfs is the best option? Can i remove a parity disk, save everything over to it, and rebuild everything?
  9. I looked at #switching-the-pool-to-multi-device-mode but don't see this as an option? Any chance I can keep my data intact that is on the array now? Or can i move it all to a current parity disk once i remove from array? Then do reverse and add back as parity
  10. Hoping to get a response within 24hrs. Do I need to cross post or change forum?
  11. 4x4TB Array -- 2x4TB Parity -- 4x256 SSD Cache What is the best configuration for home storage of backups, movies, and pictures? Last version I tested had shares that could use both array and cache, but not with version 7? What allocation method? XFS or ZFS? Do I need 2 parity disks? Averaging about 45-50 MB/s from USB3. Mobo has 6 sata and pcie gen3 card has another 6. Jonsbo N3 has 8 x 3.5 drive bays and room for another 4 ssd.
