Old post, but topic still relevant. I just checked that my desktop devours 82 [W] on idle. That was with 3 monitors ON. When one display is ON it takes 56 [W]; less but still too much for doing nothing really. Ryzen CPUs are quite efficient so i suspect that GTX 1660 drains most of it. I'm checking every new generation of GPUs but seems developers don't care about our electricity bills. Even 9000 series of Radeon are not better in that regard. What's the problem with implementing ECO modes or dedicated blocks like e-cores CPUs? Instead we have melting connectors and jet-engine fan noise. I'm not buying new GPU until they solve this issue even though i do love some gaming.
