    just for anyone looking, i ended up with this problem and it turns out generic DAC cables shouldn't be the problem... If you have a Mikrotik switch, they broke compatibility with one of their firmware updates with the x710 and haven't fixed it since... the solution i found was to use optical transceivers/cables that can auto negotiate the link speed, and set it to 1gb/s on the switch side. thanks y'all
