  1. That's exactly what I do on my S4 and it works like a charm ! ES is the best file explorer and MX player can play everything. MX is on android what vlc is on windows. Envoyé depuis mon GT-I9505 avec Tapatalk
  2. aka MAIS (Massive Array of Inexpensive Servers) The new design is more stable, taller, and would look so nice with 32 units like that...
  3. 3-4 units stacked and the gb router on top would make a nice looking thing
  4. Just bought an n40l after timelessly debating between that or an ml110 to play with esxi. Finally decided to firstly have a stable backup system. This new g8 seems to be a good candidate for esxi ? It would be awesome... Envoyé depuis mon GT-I9505 avec Tapatalk
  5. Just for my information, which model are those external enclosures you're using without trouble ?
  6. I have an N40L and that question is the exact one I was asking to myself...
  7. Thanks a lot for the clarification. The ears is jumpered but not in the array. When all the files it contains will be in the array, I'll remove the jumper and preclear it (with -A parameter) before adding it to the array. Right now I'm preclearing a 2tb seagate drive and noticed I had to add the -A switch although unraid is set to 4k alignment. I thought it wouldn't be necessary but it was... Thanks again, much clearer in my mind now.
  8. Ok I understand there is no jumper need on the earx. But for the wd15ears I also don't need the jumper for 4k alignment ? Sorry, I just want to be sure...
  9. Yes I use 4k aligned in unraid. I don't need the jumper for which hdd ? Sorry I'm a bit confused... Thank you
  10. With 2 7200rpm and 2 green drives in the 3.5" bays, how much 2.5" hdd can I add before maxing the psu ? I plan to add a 6in1 or 4in1 2.5" caddy in the 5.25" bay. Thanks
  11. I was to late to change my order :'( Do I need to put a jumper on the wd20earx like I did on my wd15ears ? Or is it something I only need to do on the ears series ? Thanks for caring...
  12. It's too late now, already ordered, I should have wait your answer... I'll try to see if I can change my order. Thanks for your input ! Envoyé depuis mon GT-I9001 avec Tapatalk
  13. Lol, they are the same price ! I've finally bought the EARX because I've nothing wrong to say about my WD15EARX. Thanks anyway for your advices... Envoyé depuis mon GT-I9001 avec Tapatalk
  14. Thanks for this clarification. So which one would you get ? EARX or EZRX ? Envoyé depuis mon GT-I9001 avec Tapatalk
  15. In my mind the wd red are more suited to real raid, unraid is just ok with the greens, but their price difference makes me think about them... Anyway, It doesn't really answer my 2 questions... Envoyé depuis mon GT-I9001 avec Tapatalk
  16. Hello everybody, I need 2 disks for a new build : my plan is a 7200 rpm seagate barracuda 7200.14 for parity and wd green WD20EARX or WD20EZRX for data. 1) is there a benefit to go for a faster drive for parity ? 2) what's the difference between the earx and the ezrx and which should I choose ? My goal is reliability and not performance there... Thanks for the advices Vittel
  17. I just tried this in unRAID 4.5.6 and it works well, thank you ! (Just had to manually symlink /dev/usblp0 to /dev/lp0 as p910nd wanted that device)
  18. The WD is an EARS, so the jumper thing is correct, thanks for the tip. While I read it somewhere I'm sure I'd have forgotten it if you didn't remember me... A big thank you for the fast and efficient reply !
  19. Hello, I have an unraid box running with small disks (80GB-120GB-250GB) and to upgrade it I recently purchased a WD caviar green 1.5 TB 5400RPM 64MB. I received meanwhile as a gift a Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 1.5 TB 7200RPM 32MB. Which one do you advice tu put as parity disk ? The last run faster but the first one has greater cache. What would be the best to do ? Any advice is welcome... Thanks
