Figured it out. you do need the name to match the ID but you need authentication enabled too

This didn't work. it gave me this error in the log and failed to start. "rc.nut: Fatal error: insufficient power configured!" with authentication it starts but doesn't give me ups status EDIT Figured it out. you do need the name to match the ID but you need authentication enabled too
