  1. Yes, both of them are connected via 1Gbit/s. I get that 400k files is a lot and there is overhead, but this slow? I also don't really see any bottlenecks. Both CPUs are chilling, network does nothing, drives barely read/write. Idk Update: I switched to NFS and now I get around 6-20MB/s. nas-diagnostics-20251125-1814.zip
  2. Is it still state of the art that normal arrays will be slow for macOS? I'm trying to copy around 147GB of pictures, around 400k files from my Mac to my Unraid NAS and it apparently takes around 50 hours. I'm writing to the cache SSD and have a gigabit connection. But my network connection only shows up to like 1MB/s of upload. I tried all the usual hacks like strict sync = no and also the /etc/nsmb.conf addons, but as I saw in other threads that file doesn't even get used anymore by macOS. Nothing gave me a speed bump. But I also don't really want to loose all the Unraid benefits like cache and parity. If I wanted exclusive access I could just hook up external hdds. Isn't there anything I can do to improve the speed? I can not really believe that this is just "the way it works" and every Mac/Unraid user copies his files this slow.
