  1. In any event that we decide to just make a new config with a new parity and lose disk 2, is there a possibility I could take the dead drive2 to a data recovery place and possibly get my data recovered that way?
  2. ok looks like it finished i guess, here is what i see.
  3. ok well should I stop the check file system? I don't see a cancel button anymore so would I just stop the array and carry on with maybe cloning the parity if possible?
  4. ok well at the moment that I'm at the scan looks like its gonna take a longer time than I though, so what would you suggest would be the next course of action? Should I cut my losses and just take the loss on the drive and use my new drive to build a new parity or should I keep trying to save drive 2?
  5. So the scan is still running and all im seeing is Phase 1 - find and verify superblock... bad primary superblock - bad CRC in superblock !!! attempting to find secondary superblock...
  6. Ok I'm checking but it seems the scan might take a while so i can give the results after its done. thank you for the info, I happened to check on the files that were in the other drives and it seems to look like I have most of the files I was hoping were saved, if in any case I lose drive 2 data, it isn't the end of the world.
  7. here is the new diagnostics kj2server-diagnostics-20260821-2119.zip
  8. file system status says Unmountable: Unsupported or no file system
  9. i was only able to afford the license with one upgrade. I'm a little lost in the instructions, when i look at the filesystem type it shows auto and thats it
  10. ok I did exactly what you told me, here is the diagnostics kj2server-diagnostics-20260821-1451.zip
  11. ok just so I'm sure you mean preserve current assignments you want me to choose all and hit apply?
  12. Francisco Acosta started following trurl
  13. here is the SMART report kj2server-smart-20260821-1253.zip
  14. Also the extended smart test finished and the results were read failure.
  15. ok so i have installed disk2 back into the array and i turned on the tower (server) and it wont boot up to the bios screen, the only way to get it boot up to bios is if the drive is unplugged, there for i believe this drive is dead, are there any solutions to get it booting to the bios screen or would you think the drive is dead too?
  16. Ok this is very helpful for me, I really appreciate your help and I hope I can get this up and running. although with the looks of it I probably wont be going into the office to test the drive until tomorrow now, still waiting on the smart test to be done, and I can shut off the server and install the drive first thing in the morning, and I will give you the update once I get that done and see what the status is of drive2.
