  2. Kode, I tried to view your guide, but the page says "Sorry, no posts matched your criteria." Looking at sickbeard.com this looks like a very interesting project and I think I want to try to get it running on my tower as well. Looking forward to your guide.
  3. Just curious, but what advantage does using sickbeard have over using the built in rss reader in sabnzbd? I've been using that with nzbs.org for quite some time with no problems.... but I'm always on the lookout for something better.
  4. Not sure if you asking for the sabnzbd files or the dependencies that unraid needs to have in order to run it. You just run the python source on unraid which you can download from http://sabnzbd.org/download/. If you were asking about the packages needed to run sabnzbd grab the SABnzbdDependencies package here: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=2903.msg30274#msg30274 For the second part of your question, just specify the user share directory you want to use, i.e, /mnt/user/...
  5. I just upgraded to version 0.5.2 today and got an error "ImportError: No module named message" when I tried to restart. I found that with this upgrade you cannot simply copy over your older version, which is what I normally have done since that was easier. Anyway, I deleted the sabnzbd subdirectory that contains all the python files and copied the the new version and it started up fine. I just thought I'd post this in case others upgraded the same way I do and run into this error. This is where I found out what was going on. http://forums.sabnzbd.org/index.php?topic=4249.msg30808#msg30808
  6. If you are wanting to use this with sabnzbd then the easiest way to do that is to installpkg the SABnzbdDependencies-1.3-i486-unRAID.tgz. You can download that file here: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=2903.msg30274#msg30274
  7. Looks like the $96/year astraweb deal is back. I signed up when they offered it in July as well and haven't regretted it a bit. Averages to $8/month for giganews-like service. http://www.news.astraweb.com/specials/voucher.cgi?t=zgufplhxfr2cwsw
  8. Thank you! Just updated to 2.55 and I'm getting messages again. I'm using smtp.gmail.com as my server.

    Google Voice

Google today confirmed it will be adding VOIP technologies to google voice in 2010... which makes this great service even better. http://www.neowin.net/news/main/09/12/30/confirmed-voip-capabilities-coming-to-google-voice
  10. It's pretty much as simple as that. Below is what I have in my go script. Replace the ip with your unraid machines ip and use whatever port you want. installpkg /boot/custom/SABnzbdDependencies-1.3-i486-unRAID.tgz python /boot/custom/SABnzbd/SABnzbd.py -d -s 192.168.1.100:9090 Once it's started you can access it via a web browser with the url: http://192.168.1.100:9090/sabnzbd/ '>http://192.168.1.100:9090/sabnzbd/ (again, this is my unraid ip and the port number I specified in the go script) Starting with sabnzbd 0.5.0 (beta) you no longer need the trailing /sabnzbd/ and can access the web interface via http://192.168.1.100:9090/
  11. I didn't get that error. Doesn't sound like you are using the SABnzbdDependencies-1.2-i486-unRAID.tgz. It includes sqlite3 along with everything else needed to run sabnzbd. See this post to get it. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=2903.msg30274#msg30274
  12. Thanks for the heads up. After backing up my old sab folder I just copied the 0.5.0 beta folder contents directly into my existing sab folder and restarted the service. All my old settings were still in tact and everything is running great so far.
  13. I noticed this too when I first switched to sabnzbd. If you don't care that your drive is always spun up then you can ignore this, but it bothered me so I had to find a solution. I tracked it down to the "watch folder" feature. If I don't use that feature it doesn't keep my disk spun up. For me I got around the problem by not using watch folders and instead using the firefox addon nzbdstatus which sends nzb's I download directly to the sabnzbd w/o me having to drop them into a watch folder. I've found it to be much more convenient than watch folders anyway. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7617
  14. The sata card previously discussed here, http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=2820.0, is on sale at newegg, $40 off regular price. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816132018&Tpk=SATAII%20CARD%20ROSEWILL%20RC-218 [edited to reflect an additional $10 off]
  15. Thanks for the reply... good to know it works. The newegg reviewer must have just had a configuration that didn't support this card and the supermicro tech support blew him off because those particular drives weren't _officially_ supported. Any other thoughts on these cards? Is there a better one? I was looking for a PCI Express card because I'm a little concerned about the hit to parity checks with just a standard PCI card... should I be? Seems like there aren't many options with PCIe.
  16. Hey all, I've run out of ports on the motherboard and am just about to the point of needing to add another drive and need some advice. I had nearly decided on choosing this card recommended from the wiki: SuperMicro AOC-SAT2-MV8. However, one of the reviews on newegg stated that these did not work with the seagate 1.5 TB drives. I'm guessing that it is likely that it wouldn't work with other manufacturers with 1.5 TB and greater either. So, are there any cards known to work in unraid with today's larger capacity drives? My motherboard: ASUS P5B-VM DO LGA 775 Intel Q965 Express Micro ATX Intel Motherboard Thanks!
  17. www.binsearch.info has over 260 (not sure exactly where it maxes out) if you select "show all" in the drop down.
  18. Looks like this question was asked earlier in this thread. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=2505.msg26972;topicseen#msg26972 I haven't taken the BubbaRaid plunge yet and am still using HellaNZB but looks like the config "PostProcess" is the key.
  19. par2cmdline torrent is no longer seeded. You can download from the following link. The download should work for at least 1 year. The site says 1 year from last view. http://drop.io/unraid_par2

  21. I would consider going with the new 1.5 TB drives recently released. Buy.com sells them for 199 and newegg for 189, but both currently out of stock. They seem to have about the same GB/$ ratio as the 1TB drives, with the 1.5TB being a slightly better deal. Something to think about with the limited physical server space. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148337 http://www.buy.com/prod/seagate-1-5tb-barracuda-sata-7200rpm-3-5-32mb-cache-internal-hard/q/loc/101/208921110.html
  22. Putty has a "Saved Sessions" feature that will save you some steps. Enter the host name (or ip), then select Telnet. Then instead of clicking Open, go to the saved sessions box and type in 'Tower' or 'unRAID' or whatever you want the name to be and click save. Then the next time you launch putty all you have to do is double click the saved name and you will be at the unRaid login prompt.
  23. bubbaQ, I don't mean to hijack this thread, but is there any chance that you could create a new thread with instructions for setting up getnzb? I have hellaNZB already set up, but it is a dead project and this one still looks to be active. Do you know if the parcheck only downloads necessary pars to do repair? Also, the housekeeper script says it will merge avi's. Does that work? That would be awesome to have something that would download, par, unrar, and merge multi part avi's automatically. olympia, Seems like this is possible, though I don't have the technical know how to implement it. You could create a script that is run by a cron job every 5 or 10 minutes. This script would look in a specified folder for .rar files to extract. If one is found it would also check the time stamps of all files in the directory and make sure that all files have not been modified for at least 1 minute. That should be enough to tell that files are finished being copied to the directory. It would extract the .rar file to some other directory and then delete all files that have the same name as the .rar file, these files will all have different extentions (.rar, .r00, .r01 etc). There may be holes in my logic, but I thought I'd share the idea.
  24. Ouch! Thanks for the warning. This just adds fuel to the fire of why an undelete/trash option would add such value. I wonder how much data is lost because of accidental user deletes vs hard drive failure. We have parity for hard drive failure but are SOL when it comes to user error. see the following link for the thread discussing undelete. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=2331.0
