  1. Not sure or seen this posted Just in case anyone might be interested micro center has a super deal on the intel i5 2500k LGA 1155 for $150. Only thing is its in store only, I still post it as i figure some people might have a store near by. They also have some great deals on gigabyte MB with the intel z68 chipset combo with the i5 2500k check it out..... http://www.microcenter.com/index.html
  2. Good lord.... When i first setup my unraid box i bought 3 2TB WD20EARS drives @newegg for $99.00. Those same drives are up 150% @$250 per drive. Well that slam the door on my upgrade plans. Everything's going up but wages.
  3. Yes he did...... very user friendly. thanks to all who made this such a great community
  4. Mission accomplish........did it thru telnet session since my server is headless. recheck User script tab Download it then it was installed. Thanks again Joe. L.....Your help as proven to be priceless once again. Regards
  5. Thanks JoeL.... That did the trick...however after checking the "User_Script" tab and scrolling to bottom i notice the this line. Local myMain_local.conf file exists, /tmp/unmenu_tmp/myMain_local.conf not installed. You will need to delete the local file first before the new will be installed. Would it be ok to delete the file from the Config View/Edit tab then rerun the unmenu update/install so the new file can be installed. Thanks again for the help.... Regards

  9. Seven...... I experience that same exact issue with a brand new WD20EARS with jumpers on. Here is the thread i was asking if someone could help me out.http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=8506.0 All the errors start showing up about 60% into the post read phase, the process just hang from there and would not proceed, so i stop it. I really cannot pinpoint what the problem was, cause no one chimed in. But from looking at the syslog it might have been some kind of connection issue of some sort be it data or power. Anyway i restarted the preclear process and it completed the process fully and the drive was ok as far as in know how to interpret the results. Good luck....
  10. Thanks for your response.....The other drive came out fine......at least to my understanding of the syslog. Only one thing i'm too sure about is Reallocated_Sector_Ct 0x0033 200 200 140 Pre-fail I don't think this is anything to worry about. Looking at syslog there are no "Current_Pending_Sectors" and "Reallocated_Event_Count is 0" If i'm wrong some can please correct me. Ive also restarted the preclear on the trouble some, drive fingers cross Oct 28 04:57:29 Tower preclear_disk-finish[8115]: Home page is http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net/ Oct 28 04:57:29 Tower preclear_disk-finish[8115]: Oct 28 04:57:29 Tower preclear_disk-finish[8115]: === START OF INFORMATION SECTION === Oct 28 04:57:29 Tower preclear_disk-finish[8115]: Device Model: WDC WD20EARS-00MVWB0 Oct 28 04:57:29 Tower preclear_disk-finish[8115]: Serial Number: WD-WCAZA0826089 Oct 28 04:57:29 Tower preclear_disk-finish[8115]: Firmware Version: 51.0AB51 Oct 28 04:57:29 Tower preclear_disk-finish[8115]: User Capacity: 2,000,398,934,016 bytes Oct 28 04:57:29 Tower preclear_disk-finish[8115]: Device is: Not in smartctl database [for details use: -P showall] Oct 28 04:57:29 Tower preclear_disk-finish[8115]: ATA Version is: 8 Oct 28 04:57:29 Tower preclear_disk-finish[8115]: ATA Standard is: Exact ATA specification draft version not indicated Oct 28 04:57:29 Tower preclear_disk-finish[8115]: Local Time is: Thu Oct 28 04:57:29 2010 EDT Oct 28 04:57:29 Tower preclear_disk-finish[8115]: SMART support is: Available - device has SMART capability. 11. Hi guys.... OK so i setup 2 WD20EARS to preclear Tuesday night. 22 hours in, everything seem to be going fine up until the post read stage, I notice while the time lapse on the other disk was changing, the other disk seem to be hanging @22:55:31 no sweat! Stood there watch for about 10 min nothing. OK let me check the syslog nothing but errors. looking at the syslog this was the first error Tower kernel: ata3.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x1 SErr 0x0 action 0x6 frozen As i'm new to all this can't really tell what that means. looking at the syslog it seems it saying something about serial bus failure. 12. I just tried the link. It works... Was this the link you tried: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=2817.0;attach=1937 Joe L. Hey Joe L. I did get it to work i logged out a couple times. but then i clear my browser history and bam! it works so i was able to download and install and run the preclear. I know this might not be the the place but i figured i would just avoid starting a new thread or something. I ran preclear on a couple of ide HDD that i had laying around and i was trying to decipher the results. As mentioned in multiple threads, that i'm reading its important not to over analyzed the results. But this 120G HDD the numbers seems kind or weired compare to another drive i did. If you are anyone could give it a quick once over and give your feedback i would greatly appreciate it. attach is a copy of both syslog. Regards. syslog-2010-10-17_1.txt syslog-2010-10-16.txt
  13. I was logged in, i even log out then back in with same issue.
  14. Thanks for the input guys......however i do understand the premise of spacing out drive purchases. i have bought multiple drives prior with no issues. I mean how ramping is this issue, not major i would assume. i guess i will have to just chance it and hope for the best. Another question i have is when i tried to download the preclear script i got this error message saying " i do not have permission to access this part of the forum" or something to that effect. Is there a reason for this.
  15. Hey guy's......I currently have my trial box with unraid basic going for about a month or so, everything has been working great i only have two drives going a 360 GB for parity and a 160GB for data. Iv'e decided to add some storage and bigger drives but still use the basic for now so i ordered (3) 2TB drives from newegg here is the link http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136514 I would like to play it safe and run preclear on them before i use them, however i'm not sure if this pose a problem since i am only using 2 disc and im limited to only have 3 disk with unraid basic. how do i run preclear. I'm sure it might be something simple i'm over looking. Any help is greatly appreciated Regards
