Server Layout Plugin for unRAID v6
I believe "rc.diskinfo" is part of the preclear plugin. You can disable diskinfo by typing "/etc/rc.d/rc.diskinfo --quit" and these messages will likely go away.

Yes it is. If linux had the apps I would switch.

How are you using your unRAID server?
My VMs are mostly Windows so I use RDP to connect to them. For a Linux VM I use VNC. I have NO video cards passed through (any more at least). My experiment with passing through a iGPU failed - not because of the iGPU pass through as that appeared to work the short time I had it installed. MB had other problems with unRAID so I had to switch it out and lost iGPU capability.

Longest server uptime for unRAID
Not really sure how long on most of my servers but on a N40L/N54L it ran for over a year - my others were less. The only reason I take the other servers down is to add/replace drives (replace when going with larger drives) or if I need to do maintenance on a VM either before unRAID had VMs with ESXi or now with VMs on unRAID. For the others longest was probably 6 months.

How much room to leave on a disk?
I try to leave space available based on what I have stored on the drive. If I have a lot of series that could expand then I tend to leave 500GB+ free. If it is movies (which span many drives) I leave 250GB or less but I always leave some - probably shouldn't now that my arrays are all XFS and not ReiserFS.

LSI Controller FW updates IR/IT modes
This is my HP H310 or IBM M1015 (I have several of each and not sure which this was): Aug 25 05:26:57 VMServer kernel: mpt2sas_cm0: LSISAS2008: FWVersion(18.00.00.00), ChipRevision(0x03), BiosVersion(07.31.00.00) My LSI-9201-16i's look like this: Aug 25 05:26:57 VMServer kernel: mpt2sas_cm1: LSISAS2116: FWVersion(19.00.00.00), ChipRevision(0x02), BiosVersion(07.37.00.00) I would believe a 9211-8i is what you want but I wouldn't try it without advise from someone that has upgraded the firmware on a 9201-8i first. I could be wrong.

Preclear plugin
Here the info from the first post did you use one of these links? If they have problems you could start with the raw bjp999 script and just do the modified JoeL changes that Zan suggested: I believe that is the version I am using. It doesn't work with notifications based on gfjardim notes not sure what problems that could cause but I've never seemed to have any.
-
Preclear plugin
You need to edit the script to be compatible with 6.2+. It has the same problem as the original JoeL script in that it needs to be updated to be compatible with 6.2+. I am searching for the update instructions now.

Preclear plugin
That is the idea yes. Just make sure you export it so that it is visible on the network. I also have mine public but that is only because my servers have no users defined (one has a user for native FTP access but that is it). Once you have the flash exported you should see it in explorer and you can copy files from/to it like any other share.

How are you using your unRAID server?
Me too. -20 lows in Winter potentially (usually around 20-30 inside the detached garage ) and summer 115 in the garage just two weeks ago.

Preclear plugin
That's how I do it too. I go into setting and turn the flash drive share to enabled and then copy to and from my flash drive. That is how I backup my flash drive. NOTE this is not the recommended way because the super.dat file will indicate an unclean shutdown if I were to restore from a backup. Unless you stop the array before backing up from the flash share anyway.

Preclear plugin
I just use the fast bjp999 preclear script dropped into the ".../flash/config/plugins/preclear.disk" directory as preclear_disk.sh and the file readvz in the root of the flash. Then in the plugin I switch to the listing for bjp999 for which to use. Specifically: switch from gfjardim 0.8.9 beta to bjp929 1.15b.

Preclear plugin
Have you tried the script and this plugin? When I was having problems with this plugin's native mode I switched to using the script with this plugin and my problems went away. It still works with the script as far as I know anyway. I haven't had to preclear a disk in a while so things could have changed. I should add I did have to patch the script to work with 6.2+ but after that this plugin worked without problems for me.

How are you using your unRAID server?
The way that SageTV works does not allow you to have back to back shows recording on the same channel and have padding. So I have to have two tuners to record those back to back shows on the same channel. Plus I don't have bit perfect backups of a show I have multiple recordings on different boxes. Plus with signal problems like multi-path I need multiple recordings of each show to sometimes get just a single acceptable recording. Plus I like to archive shows for watching later. I have every episode of Game Of Thrones recorded I think but I haven't watched any of them yet. This lets me record everything and then only watch shows that last more than one or two seasons. Although one of my favorite shows only lasted 2 seasons so I've yet to delete much at this point. I have deleted some after having watched some episodes and deciding the show wasn't worth it - but there haven't been many of those.

How are you using your unRAID server?
I have several UPSs one for each server and one for network, DirecTV boxes. One for livingroom desktop and laptop and TV. One in bedroom for my SageTV extender and TV. One in other bedroom/office for other desktops that are off 99% of the time now that I have a laptop in the living room. Grand total 6 in basement 4 1500 and 2 1000s. 1300 in living room 2 1000s in each bedroom. All are desktop varity as I had tower cases in basement with same UPSs until just over a year ago. When batteries are done I plan on getting a rack mount variety designed for multiple boxes and consolidate UPSs as well.

$200+/- 20 a month gas and electric on budget billing. I wouldn't call it budget billing since they change it (up or down) every 3 months it seems. Yes it is all in a rack in my basement. I should have also mentioned I have an electric car (Volt) that I also plug in every night that is part of the $200

How are you using your unRAID server?
I have 4 working unRAID servers and one disassembled server: 1) 67TB on 20 drive array 2 parity drives - 14 TB free - SageTV docker recording HD on Colossus card from DirecTV and ATSC & QAM tuners - 10 total tuners. 2) 72TB on 20 drive array 2 parity drives - 21TB free - SageTV docker recording from ATSC & QAM tuners - 10 total tuners. 3) 100TB on 16 drive array 2 parity drives - 22 TB free - SageTV docker recording HD on 2 HDPVRs from DirecTV and ATSC & QAM tuners - 15 total tuners. 4) 90TB on 17 drive array 2 parity drives - 42 TB free - Backup location DVD/BluRay rips multiple VMs used to have a VM with ATSC & QAM tuners - 4 tuners (not used now). 5) 48TB on 17 drive array 1 parity drive - 9TB free - This one is disassembled and still on v5.0.6 the last I knew - been 2 years since last running.

LSI Controller FW updates IR/IT modes
Not with the 9201 it isn't a raid card it is an HBA. IR = raid bios. IT = HBA bios. So your 9201 is already IN IT mode.

Running ESXi on Unraid
Plus you could run unRAID as an ESXi VM. I did that for several years and it worked well. I might be switching back to that if I cannot get a PCI (note not PCIexpress) tuner to pass through in unRAID. ESXi 5.0 had no problem and I'm hoping 6.5 will as well.

[Support] Linuxserver.io - Plex Media Server
It is usually advised to use the "Docker Safe New Perms" that gets installed in the "Tools" tab on unRAID with the Fix Common Problems plugin. That one is safe to do when your appdata directory is on your cache drive and you want to either do ALL drives or you want to just do the cache drive.

vm help windows 98se
It is installed in a directory HXCD-ROM. I believe it was from the 31pack of drivers for Windows 3.1. If I remember correctly some of the other drivers didn't even find the drives. Will have to try some of the others I guess. It's just a pain as I have to edit the XML directly to add a floppy and then each time I want to change the floppy in the drive. At least until I can find a driver for the CD anyway. I will look for the OAK driver that was the Universal one I remember from back then anyway.

vm help windows 98se
It actually runs whereas my 98se VM does not. Haven't figured out why yet. Not high on my list right now. The WFW311 VM does have it's own problems that I need to figure out some time: Exiting WFW311 brings up the dos prompt but it is essentially locked up with noVNC - works with TightVNC - so this is probably just a problem with unRAIDs version of noVNC and not the VM. Not able to read CD drives D and E currently. WFW311 shows the drives as empty and from Dos 622 a Dir listing shows a read failure and the "abort, retry, fail" prompt. This is likely due to the bios reporting it as a DVD drive rather than a CD drive and I don't think DVD drives were supported until Win95 time frame. So need to research how to get KVM to reduce the support to just CD mode. Just haven't had the time yet. It could also be the format of the ISO but I have tried switching to ISO 9660 mode (the most basic) without success.

Auto Disable Mover During Parity Check
+1 for me too.
