Parity Disk - 52 errors, or not?
Perfect, thanks... I didnt know if this would be as extensive as preclearing it - but obviously preclearing will destroy any data on the disk. I will put the 1st 'failed' disk in my home UnRAID server and run an extensive SMART test today and see what it shows. Thanks

Parity Disk - 52 errors, or not?
I have ordered another Parity disk which should be here tomorrow and I will run a Preclear cycle on it before dropping it to the datacentre... but one thing which someone pointed out was whether there is a backplane issue on the server as this is the third 'failed' parity disk in a few months... I have the last failed disk here and will obviously get the other one back when I swap it out... but is there a way to test the 'failed' disks... they have been removed from the array, but nothing else has been done - so I have them here as they cam out of the array... if I run a Preclear cycle on them (in a different server here) would it confirm whether they are faulty, or if there is a potential connection issue in my production server. I may ask the datacentre dude to install the new parity disk in a different slot, as I have 3 spare slots which can be used, to try and rule out a problem with the slot I am currently using. Any thoughts or advice greatly appreciated.

Parity Disk - 52 errors, or not?
I have recently replaced my parity disk with one which only has 5273 hours of use. It has been in the array for about 2 months and suddenly has flagged up 52 read errors... I have run a short SMART self-test and it shows no errors. So, are these errors a hardware failure indication of the disk, or is it a software read-error? I am just trying to work out if I need to replace the hard disk (again)... it is still under warranty so I should be able to get it swapped out OK. Also, as this is a parity disk am I right in thinking there is no way anyone can recover any data from this disk alone as I dont want to erase/preclear it before sending it back in case it resets the error? I am 99.99% sure this is correct, but would just like someone to add the 0.001% reassurance Diags attached. Thanks phoenix-diagnostics-20240602-0931.zip

Parity Check Cancelled
Hi All I had a failed parity disk, so I replaced it yesterday and the parity disk rebuild ran for about 12 hours. Just when it finished, I got a message saying; Event: Unraid Parity-Sync Subject: Notice [PHOENIX] - Parity-Sync finished (1 errors) Description: Canceled Importance: warning At the same instant I got another message saying; Event: Unraid Parity disk message Subject: Notice [PHOENIX] - Parity disk returned to normal operation Description: WDC_WD60PURZ-85ZUFY1_WD-WX11D571VX16 (sde) Importance: normal On the dashboard it shows; I am slightly confused as it seems to say that the parity rebuild has completed successfully, but the fact that it shows it was cancelled indicates there was an issue - can someone explain and confirm that the array is now back to normal? There is a UDMA CRC Error Count of 17130 on sdd which was there when I bought the disk and hasnt increased since I've had it, so am pretty sure that this was because the last owner had a faulty controller or card in their system. I have attached diags. Thanks in advance. phoenix-diagnostics-20240430-0801.zip

Parity Disk Preclear Errors

Parity Disk Preclear Errors
OK, the second cycle has completed and shows this, even though it says success do these results indicate that this disk is failing too?

Parity Disk Preclear Errors
I have a failed 6Tb parity disk in my array and have bought a replacement disk with about 3300 hours on it. So, I thought I would run a couple of preclear cycles to make sure its OK before putting it in the array. During the first cycle I got an email saying; Warning [UNRAID] - reallocated sector ct is 1 It is now running its second cycle and I have received an email saying; Warning [UNRAID] - reallocated sector ct is 8 When I preview the results I see this; Should I worry about these warning messages? Are they indicative that my 'new' disk is failing and also, given that Any advice appreciated as my array has been unprotected for a couple of weeks now and I am concerned in case I have another disk fail. Thanks

Failed/Failing Parity Disk?
Hi All I have just had a flurry of error messages from my production server over a 30 minute period saying... I have attached the diagnostics too - but can someone confirm that the parity disk needs replacing? Thanks phoenix-diagnostics-20240401-2122.zip

Move share to single disk [SOLVED]
perfect - looks like its working this way Thanks

Move share to single disk [SOLVED]
OK, installed Dynamix File Manager plugin and have set this share to exclude all other disks (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) and include disk 6... but in Dynamix File Manager there is only an option to move to target and then lists shares, not disks... I selected the same share hoping it would see that this is now set to disk 6 only and move the files... but it made no changes. Am I missing something... otherwise I will have to manually move the files in MC?

Move share to single disk [SOLVED]
There used to be a good app for manually moving shares on disks - I searched "move" but couldnt see it, can anyone remind me what its called?

Move share to single disk [SOLVED]
Hi All I have an array where one share is accessed remotely constantly... this share is spread across several disks keeping the whole array spun up all the time. So, I have added a new disk, just to hold this share - so only this one disk will be permanently spinning. I plan to exclude this disk on all other shares and on the share which I want on here, I will allow this disk and exclude all the others on the array. My question is... if I do this, will mover relocate all the data in this share to the single disk from the rest of the array - or do I need to make the allows/excludes and then manually move the data? Thanks

UnRAID Connect - missing servers
Hi guys I had 2 UnRAID servers fail simultaneously last night... and was on UnRAID Connect to download flash backups, etc. Today I have them both running again, thanks to recent flash backups and licence keys on UnRAID Connect. However today I only see 1 of my servers in my dashboard. Last night there were 3... my home machine, one in a datacentre and one decommissioned machine. On both active machines they show as connected... but when I use the "Go to Connect" link from either machined dashboard, I see the same "home" machine only! Is there a problem, or do I need to do something?

Dead USB Key - how to restore to new key
OK, a quick update... I downloaded the last Flash backup from UnRAID Connect (10th Jan), used the install tool to restore this to the original USB key and its all back up and running again. Obviously I am mindful that the USB key failed once, so will monitor things and see how it goes... BUT this highlights the importance of a recent flash backup if you want a chance of a quick fix when things go wrong

Dead USB Key - how to restore to new key
Thanks @Frank1940 will have a look today - as I have transferred the licence a few weeks ago to the key which has now dies, I will have to get in touch with support to manually transfer the licence. I am going to try formatting the dead key in a Windows machine and restore the USB key backup to see if I can get it working again and then transfer it urgently to a new key.

Transferring licence to different USB key [Solved]
OK, I managed to SSH to the /boot/config folder and imported the Pro.key.... then rebooted and "Replaced" the key... so, in case anyone else has this issue you can use something like WinSCP to access it Thanks all

Transferring licence to different USB key [Solved]
Is it possible to mount the flash drive in unassigned devices and if so can you access it without the array started?

Transferring licence to different USB key [Solved]
I dont think I do... sadly my home UnRAID machine is down as the USB key died and I cant get that working again and if I have a backup it would be on the home machine I uploaded the Pro.key file on one of my VPS which hosts a webserver... in the Tools > Registration GUI there is an option to Install Key and it asks for the key file URL... but when I put the URL of the webserver where the keyfile is hosted it still fails
