  1. Good Morning, I believe what I'm asking is possible, but would like to verify and to see the best way to do it. Basically I would like to assign Docker to one physical NIC on my host, and then the unRaid GUI/VM's to the second physical NIC. Related (but less important), is it possible on a container by container basis to assign what NIC it will go to... similar to the idea of CPU pinning? Thanks! ~Spritz
  2. Apologies for bumping and old post, but this worked great for me, so thank you! Does anybody know if this is automated/fixed in 6.2, or if a plugin exists to do this? Also, any risk to clearing out these logs? Thanks! ~Spritz
  3. If I can find the packages I will add findutils. Edit: I'm not sure which program you need. All I could find about locate was info about security exploits. There's an slocate package which is secure locate and there's the findutils but it doesn't include locate anymore probably due to security risks. I'm not aware of the security concerns, but would be curious to know about them. That being said, locate is still in the findutils package version 4.6, located here --> https://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/findutils/ Thanks for the help! ~Spritz
  4. First of, awesome plugin! Thanks for taking the time to create and maintain it. The second question is in regards to excluding shares... what is the correct format to use, as it does not seem to be working for me. I've just put in "Movies,TV" but do I need to put the full path? (Help doesn't state the format). Thanks again! ~Spritz
  5. Could we get the locate utility added? It would be super duper great! Thanks. ~Spritz
  6. Me again, nothing turned up when I searched, so apologies if this has been answered... (also I did check the help screens this time ) Is there anyway to share out particular folders on the mounted drive, rather than the whole drive... and have it survive a reboot? Barring that, is it possible to share the drive as hidden? Thanks again! ~Spritz
  7. "If the disk has been precelared and shows a grayed 'Format' button, click on the disk serial number, then click on the red-X to delete the preclear status file." Dammit, I was on the wrong "Help" screen... I was looking under settings. My bad, thanks for the help... I feel very foolish. ~Spritz
  8. I don't really see the answer to my question in the help section (which is pretty slick BTW), I already had destructive mode enabled. That being said, I did notice a typo under "SMB Security" --> "Set to 'Yes' to enable SMB Security omn SMB shares. Set access by user to allow access and whether or not the user can write to the share" ~Spritz
  9. xfs and ext4 get mounted with 'discard'. There is no user settable Trim option. Click 'Help' on the UD page and read what it says about formatting disks and pre-cleared disks. Based on your response, I feel that I'm probably missing something obvious... d'oh! I'll have a look tonight when I'm home. Thanks for the reply. ~Spritz
  10. I tried searching the thread, but didn't get any results, so I apologize if this has already been asked. That being said, is their anyway to run Trim on unassigned SSD's? Also, after running pre-clear on a couple of drives, the "format" button is greyed out in unassigned devices (destructive mode is on)... I had to add them as cache drives and have the array format them. Has anyone seen this behavior before? Thanks! ~Spritz EDIT - Realized I haven't updated my sig yet. Running the latest stable of 6.1.9 and the latest version of UD (as of yesterday).
  11. Thanks for the rapid response, it worked perfectly! Will you update this thread/notify the community when it's safe to remove that flag? And as an aside, will that variable work on all your containers, in case something similar happens again? If so, it may be an idea to make a sticky about it. ~Spritz
  12. Thank you for the feedback ~Spritz
  13. I agree, however emhttp seems to be lacking when compared to real webservers. Even though it might have been CA that triggered it, the root xause of the issue is emhttp and how they handle threading of requests. Hasn't emhttp been a problem since like v4 or v5? Any reason why it's still being used? ~Spritz
  14. I hate to bump my own posts, but any feedback on this? Thanks! ~Spritz
  15. Thanks for that! However, I'm my brain is just having difficulty wrapping my mind around the split levels I need. Could somebody sanity check what I'm going to put in place... to give me the warm fuzzies. Bonus it may help somebody else as well NOTE - I've placed a star besides the level I think it should be split at. 1. Movies *2. Kids Movies/MD Movies/Mom Movies 3. Movie Folder 4. Movie File 1. TV 2. Kids TV/MD TV/Dad TV/Mom TV *3. Series Name 4. Season Folder 5. Episode Files 1. Music 2. Archive/Our Music *3. Artist Folder 4. Album Folder 5. Song File 1. Documents *2. M Documents/D Documents/Scanned Documents 3. Various Files & Folders 1. Library (need to verify comic naming) *2. Comics/Books 3. Comic Series/D Books/M Books [NOTE - If the mylar naming convention allows, we could go one folder deeper) 4. Comic Files/Author Folder 5. NA/Book files 1. Backups *2. Crashplan/Manual Backups 3. Crashplan Backup/Files & Folders 4. Crashplan Backup files/NA 1. Software *2. Windows/Linux/ISO 3. Files & Folders 1. Photos *2. Year 3. Month 4. Photos Feedback is welcome, either on split level or folder structure. Thanks! ~Spritz
  16. Hey All, As I'm finalizing my v6 unRaid build, I was making sure that nothing had changed with Split Level since v4/v5. I thought I had a handle on how everything works... but then I saw this --> Split Level The diagram above seems to indicate that the parent share does not count towards the split level... which was not my understanding. So if I'm doing the following with my movies (for the sake of argument), what's the correct split level --> Movies (Share Name) Kids Movies - Parent Movies [movie folder] [movie file] My understanding is that I would want to have a split level of 2 in the above scenario. However, based on what I linked above, I should choose split level 1. Which is correct? Thanks! ~Spritz
  17. No apology is necessary, I appreciate the time and effort you put in. Your post made me dig further, as it made me remember something I read long ago... so thank you. I'll try to post comparison if I ever get around to finding a reasonably priced card ~Spritz
  18. You math forgot the overhead associated with PCI-e encoding (~20% hit), so the numbers are about 2500MBs... also the PCI-e bus (v2) limits you to about 3200MBs, so that introduces a bottleneck. So napkin math says that each drive will have about 133mb/s available to it... which is brutal for SSD's (not that I'd connect an SSD to the expander), and does slow down the drives. To answer your questions though, all drives are 7200 RPM, the SAS expander is Sata2/SAS3. ~Spritz
  19. Any feedback, or any reason to think that the SuperMicro AOC-S2308L would not be supported and/or have issues? ~Spritz EDIT - It drive appears to be part of the base Linux 3.x (and up) kernel, so I'm pretty confident it should work.
  20. I'm afraid that I must disagree with you. The math shows that the M1015 tops out at about 130mb/s when having 24 drives connected to it, and it's rougly halfed if you're only using one lane. This has the potential to start bottlenecking the drives (if/when they're all in use). That being said, the question was more will the HP Expander/Controller be able to use the additional bandwidth available to it. Thanks! ~Spritz
  21. Good Morning, Having just got in on the E5-2670 deals, I'm looking to clean up and optimize my storage server... and I suppose to a degree simplify it. I will be re-installing unraid on the box, which means any card needs to support IT mode (AFAIK). Anyways, what I currently have is an IBM M1015 connect to an HP Expander running 20 (soon to be 24) drives. Now, afaik the M1015 is a PCIe 2.0 card. My question is will I see a performance jump if I purchased a PCIe 3.0 controller card? If so, any suggestions on cards? I was looking at the HP H200... thoughts? Thanks in advance! ~Spritz
  22. Thanks for the detailed response! Are you also running the E5 2670v1? ~Spritz
  23. I'm leaning towards the ASRock, but I need to get confirmation that it would fit in my case. Also, they have a slightly (at least in CAD funds) cheaper version of it with only 2 NIC's. ~Spritz
  24. If you're an American, it's an even better value ~Spritz
  25. Yeah, I've done that a bunch of time at the very UPS store... but Ebay factors in the cost of duty and everything now into shipping rates which makes the cost nearly identical to me driving down (especially if you factor in the cost of my time). Which Xeon? The E5-2670 is about $2000 just for the cpu. I've changed my build shopping list a few times but I was at about $900 with a E3-1245 v5 and 32GB of ram so it seems like you're getting better value and since I've only ordered the drives so far I'm still able to edit my list Dual E5-2670v1's off of Ebay... they're about $65USD each right now. ~Spritz
