No corruption detected by btrfs so far, and when there's a problem it's usually quick to detect some, so if you ran other v6.10.x release for more than a day I would think it should be fine to enable vt-d, just monitor the log for the iommu error described in the post linked above, if you don't see that after a few hours use with vt-d enabled it's another indication you should be fine.

Been running solid since Monday with no errors thus far.

  2. Thanks for the reply and the catch.  disabling VT-d in bios brought me back up but now I need to figure out what to do.  I have VMs running on this that I need for production so disabling VT-d leaves me non functional.  I wasn't having any issues since going to 6.10 so I'm wondering if it is safe to bypass the blacklist.

  3. Good morning, looking for some assistance.  I upgraded top the newest release this morning and my machine came back up missing the NICS.

    netxtreme bcm5764m gigabit ethernet pcie

"lshw -class network" shows the NICs as unclaimed.  can anyone assist?  No hardware changes, just the most recent update (just a small revision jump as I was on the latest release prior to this upgrade.

  4. I'm getting this error with Fix Common Issues plugin but I think the use case I'm using, this is expected behavior.  Wanted to throw it out there in case someone has some recommendations to alternatives or if they think it is safe to ignore.

I want to be able to mount my google drive as a file share to be able to use in at least one of my containers.  I found a Docker container that does just that (mitcdh/google-drive-ocamlfuse).  So what I've down is use this container to mount the google drive to a location on unRaid (I used /mnt/disks/gdrive) and then setup a volume in the other container(s) to use that location as a volume.  It seems to work great (as long as I start the containers in order).  A couple behavior things:

    - the owner of /mnt/disks/gdrive seem to revert to root on reboot.  I'd like it to stay nobody so this all works.  Right now I'm manually fixing that on reboot.    Would a different mount location be more appropriate?

    - the Fix Common Issues throws an error asking for it to be setup as slave in the container.  Doing that causes it to not work, the drive that is mounted in the google-drive container isn't visible from unraid and therefore isn't visible in the other containers.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?  Any bad side effects to what I'm doing?  Can I safely ignore the warning?  Is that the best location to do the mount and is there a way to keep that nobody:users ownership at the mount point?  Thanks in advance for any thoughts and suggestions.

  5. Thanks UNRAID support for being super fast.  They have resolved the key issue and I'm back up and running.  Thank goodness for great backups as my data on the key was fully recovered and I don't have to re-setup anything.

A friendly reminder, now would be a great time for you to install and setup "CA Backup / Restore Appdata" to backup both your appdata and your USB key.

  6. running a memory test now.  Also remembered when the system came back up I got an error that the bios was reset to defaults and needed the date.  I replaced the bios battery and reset to defaults.  Could be a bios setting playing havoc as well.

  7. Had a power outage last night and when the server came back up there were some issues.  First, USB was completely corrupt.  Pulled another into rotation and rebuilt from my USB backup.  Booted up and partity check ran.  When it completed I got Last check completed on Mon 06 Jul 2020 06:30:00 PM CST (today), finding 1645 errors

That has me really worried.  I have attached my diagnostics.  Any thoughts as to what might be the cause?

  8. I'm sure this has been answered before but for the life of me I can't figure it out.

Heres my PHP info from the admin screen:

    Version: 7.3.17

    Memory Limit: 2 GB

    Max Execution Time: 3600

    Upload max size: 3 GB

I was able to set memory limit and upload max size without issue, but that max execution time I can't find a way to change it.  I need that bumped up but I haven't been able to find any configuration file setting to make it stick.  Can anyone assist?  I'm running into issues because of it.

What are these shares anonymized as d----------p and T-------e ?

As I explained, mover ignores cache-no shares. If a share already has files on cache, setting the share to cache-no will not get any of those files off cache. The user share settings only applies to newly written files. So if a share has files on cache, and you set it to cache-no, no more files for that share will be written to cache, but mover will ignore the share and so those files will never be moved from cache.

Those were two empty folders.  When I changed the shares to no longer be on the cache drive some time ago, I had moved them off to the array but forgot the root share folder (which was empty).  All the content inside were moved off to array already.  Those empty folders have been removed from the cache

Is this why your cache is so full?

I had two empty folders on cache that shouldnt have been there based on the cache-no shares.  No content in them but they have been removed now.

My cache disk is fairly full because I have 3 VMs with relatively large disks running on cache.  That plus the Docker sizes consume most space.

I did a bit of clean up of some containers that were kicking around.  This is what remains.

i dont have any IOS devices, but i have connected with two devices concurrently muitlip times with no issues (android minecraft pe and xbox one). so there are a few potential causes that i can think of:-

    1. unstable wi-fi - check your signal strength, try wired if possible.

    2. blocking issue  - make sure you dont have any blocking going on. - adblockers, pihole, pfsense config, vlan's, etc

    3. IOS client issue - check to see if this is a known issue with the IOS version of minecraft client, perhaps there is some instability?.

    4. Minecraft Bedrock Server incompatibilities - check to see if there are any incompatibilities with IOS and the Minecraft Bedrock server.

    1. wired isn't an option, ipad/ios devices.  I don't believe it to be a wireless issue.  I can have two devices on the same wifi in the same room as the access point and it appears on one and not on the other.  Typically the first person that opens the app will see the server and the second person that opens the app will not.

    2. nothing should be in the way here either.  I don't run adblockers or pihole.  no vlans.  Only tricky thing is the networking on unraid itself.  I tried with custom networking/static IP as well as bridge networking and same occurs.

    3. possible, unsure the best place to look for that, that is why I posted here

    4. same as above.

  13. Been working on setting up a server using this container for my family of 3 to play.  Internal network only.  I have the initial configuration setup allowing 10 users, have my whitelist, permissions setup.  Problem I'm seeing is that the server seems to be only seen intermitantly and usually by only one person.  I've been able to connect and play, but other users on the lan not so much, and some times they can connect but I cant.  Doesnt show up in the list in the app (all iOS devices) and manually entering the server details don't connect either.  Having no issues with other containers (I use plenty) so I'm unsure where to go from here.  Anyone else experience this?  Thoughts?

Android running on Emulated ARM hardware would probably run worse, FWIW.

This would be a use case for it then. You could however, set up a PXE boot SD card and store your development/testing images on a PXE server for the PI. This way you aren't constantly writing an SD card and your changes to the image can happen quickly.

I still need to develop the image which currently involved the Pi.  Once setup I pull the image and deploy to other Pis.  I'd like to do all that configuration on the PC and deploy from there.

    Use AndroidX86:

In a normal x86 vm. Arm is not required for this.

@OP - are there any specific limitations that prevent you from running the native x86 versions of those packages or configurations in say, an ArchLinux or Debian VM? I mean, testing rpi images is a fine use case for it. But crosscompiling for ARM is faster on native x86 if you are planning on using it for any sort of dev purposes.

For me specifically, I'm looking to do Raspberry Pi central management, development and testing before I send my images off to SD cards.
