  1. Update: reboot fixed it! Windows FTW.
  2. I was hoping I could get some help debugging the issue with one of my unraid servers. I have both with the same packages installed. I have confirmed their settings are identical for the SSMTP package. I also confirmed that both can access the internet without a problem. The second server can not send email. My test email script never makes it to the proper email address. Any thoughts would greatly be appreciated. In the meantime I am going to reboot the second server which isn't working properly (sorry I am more a windows guy ) Thanks! Neil
  3. Stupid me neglected to install: unraid-status-email unRAID Status Alert sent hourly by e-mail (configurable for specific hours and content)
  4. I gotta be missing something. What config page is there? I looked on both packages and didn't see anything like what you are describing
  5. Understood! I installed it. But I need to know how to setup the notifications every 12 hours. Any documentation to do that? Thanks, Neil
  6. Perfect that resolves that now I just need to figure out the SSMTP thing
  7. Another stupid question: when I updated unmenu it wiped out my config file and I don't use DNS to resolve any names. I use the ip address. I fixed the issue with unmenu in the unmenu.conf but where do I change the reference to the website for unraid. When I go to unraid main it doesn't send me to the right place. It tries to use the machine name.
  8. Ok I didn't install the overtemp script as I don't think that is an issue for me. Perhaps I am naive The one question would be how do I go about configuring the email script. I will poke around but im sure I will have issue Thanks!
  9. Did you use it? I'm thinking you did not. What you are seeing is version 1.3.7.1 of the unmenu_install program. It is the utility I wrote to install and update unMENU. Once you download and run unmenu_install, you'll see it will download and install version 1.5 of unMENU. (You can verify by using the "About" link in unMENU.) Found that. Just to be picky and not seem ungrateful it is a bit confusing
  10. I installed the compiler and tried the ssmtp but got an error: 257ac04e62ab7e3616e220333a1140cb (NOT matched - download may be corrupted or download URL no longer valid.) Not Found The requested URL /debian/pool/main/s/ssmtp/ssmtp_2.62.orig.tar.gz was not found on this server. I am running unmenu Version 1.4 Revision: 223. I attempted to update but on the google site it says 1.3x so I thought that is a step backwards? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks! Neil
  11. I have a couple stupid questions like will this run on unraid 4.7? If so I copy the contents of the package to a directory called extra, and then what? I think this is 5 beta only considering 4.7 doesn't have an extra folder. Thanks, Neil
  12. Can someone point me in the direction of a plugin or script that can email me daily or two times a day that would provide some insight on how my unraid server is running. I just want to make sure if I don't lofin to the website to look that i won't go without noticing some trouble... Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I am running 4.7 with Unmenu Thanks, Neil
  13. Ahhh thanks for the clarification. I do spin up the drives but I don't know that I would recognize a problem. Do you have any thoughts on a script to check parity on a monthly basis? Also is there a tool I could use to schedule and have proactive messages emailed to me in order to identify errors and other potential problems? Thanks, Neil
  14. ok I stopped the parity check - shut down - pulled the suspect drive and rebuilding on a new drive now. My parity was old. It takes so long to check that I just can't do it too often but I think I should schedule it monthly... Any thoughts on this?
  15. Well I couldn't really do anything and I lost network so I had to control alt delete the box. It rebooted and is doing a parity test. It was going well before I went to bed - said it was going to take about 6 hours. Well I just checked it - excited it would be done like Xmas morning all over but I got a lump of coal in my stocking Total size: 1,953,514,552 KB Current position: 741,624,588 (37.9%) Estimated speed: 98 KB/sec Estimated finish: 204674.7 minutes So I have like another 10 years before it is done. Im afraid if it craps out I lose parity? How does that work? I would be fine to just pull the disk and repair - I mean I am in a bad way here right now. This isn't even reasonably quick. That drive shows lots of errors so it is clearly the problem. How does one go about killing the curent parity check then replace the drive and rebuild the raid? Thanks, Neil
  16. Guys I am experiencing some trouble with unraid and I was hoping to get some advice before I screw this up I noticed one of my drives was showing errors and I couldn't read something off of it - it was causing sagetv to lock up. Anyway I rebooted my laptop (obviously unrelated) but I came back to the web interface and now it won't come back up. I was able to access unmenu until a few minutes ago now it seems to crap out. I have telnet access. So not really sure or know what to do from here. I do have the syslog in my browser session but I couldn't download it. Attached is everything i copied and pasted. Please provide any ideas here. good news is I have a precleared drive just waiting but this is a 2TB drive that is like 1.8TB full so its going to take a while to rebuild I am sure. This is 4.6 btw. Thanks! Neil syslog.txt
  17. You could cut it and extend it with a new wire. just a suggestion....
  18. That sounds good but this server is a dedicated unraid server. It runs nothing else so it is very strange.
  19. Something can't be right on my system. I am deleting some files (albeit big ones) from the same folder as a movie I am streaming to SageTV. At this very moment the video has locked up and will not play. As a matter of fact it has caused SageTV to essentially crap the bed. Not really sure what is going on but if I perform any file modifications (copying, deleting, or even writing to the cache drive) while streaming the stream just goes bad. I don't believe this is a CPU problem given the fact that there are like dual dual core XEON's in there. Thanks, Neil
  20. I don't know but I think hyperthreading is enabled. The drive wasn't close to being full! It was like 1.3 TB out of 2 TB? Neil
  21. It is a supermicro card. I bought in on thos C933 Supermicro servers that were discussed in "Good Deals" The card is a: AOC-SAT2-MV8 Thanks, Neil
  22. So I am running a cache disk which isn't very full and has plenty of room. I saw the drive filling up as I was doing a major copy. Anyway as I am writing I see performance go in to the toilet from the read perspective. I am streaming movies from another disk and they are choppy. As soon as I killed the copy read performance was back to normal. I can only imagine since we are talking about different disks it is a controller issue... I attached my syslog. The machine is pretty beefy with dual xeon procs and plenty of memory. Let me know your thoughts... Thanks! Neil syslog-2011-11-03.txt.zip
  23. Yes I understand that but in order to make this work I think I need to migrate to another box. I will check it out. Thanks, Neil
  24. I really have to say I feel like I am between a rock and a hard place now. I did pre-clear my drives at 3.0 TB. Does the beta require a license? I would imagine it does. But I have another box I could screw around with but then I would have to buy yet another license. I will email Tom and see... Thanks, Neil
  25. Jumping to this thread I am considering beta now What is the BLK problem? I have 8 port Supermicro cards.. Thanks, Neil
