  1. Hey! Server has been running great for months but then a few days ago it crashed so I rebooted it, and it crashed again. After playing about with it last night, I have disabled ALL the scripts, including the unmenu auto install apart from the UnMenu GUI. And it is still doing it. After rebooting it, its really slow loading the web based interfaces and then after 4-5 minutes it stops responding completely. Here is my System log. It seems to show that some of the drives have HPA and some SMART are showing errors but I don't know enough about the logs to work out which drives ones. http://pastebin.com/YbUybBQR All help muuuuuch appreshiated.
  2. Anyone? Would be great if someone could look over the log and let me know where to start!
  3. Hi again! Am loving my UnRaid for 6 months now, but have come across a few problems just recently. I added three new HD's but in my stupidity i forgot to pre-clear them and is seems that at least two of them had HPA "thingies" For some reason it has just started a parity check and has found 7 errors. Running Unraid 4.7 Intel® Core i3 CPU 540 @ 3.07GHz 4GB RAM 2GB SWAP 8 data disks, cache and parity. Syslog: http://pastebin.com/icctT2Rr All help muchly appreciated!! ;D
  4. How do I find the right folder for the drive? type ls -l /dev/disk/by-id The disks will be listed by model/serial number with the "device" at the end of each line. Thanks a lot. root@tower:~# cat /sys/block/sdf/size 976773168 root@tower:~# dd status=noxfer count=1 if=/dev/sdf | od -Ad -t x1 0000000 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 1+0 records in 1+0 records out * 0000432 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 89 af 0b 61 00 00 00 00 0000448 00 00 83 00 00 00 3f 00 00 00 f1 5f 38 3a 00 00 0000464 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 * 0000496 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 55 aa 0000512

  6. As the title really. I have a 7 disk unread setup. And after rebuilding the PC it is set to IDE mode. I have read that AHCI is preferred, should I change it now? Or leave it? and why? Thanks
  7. Sorry, didn't change the drive letter. I think this is the one... root@tower:~# cat /sys/block/sdd/size 2930277168 root@tower:~# root@tower:~# dd status=noxfer count=1 if=/dev/sdd | od -Ad -t x1 0000000 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 1+0 records in 1+0 records out * 0000448 00 00 83 00 00 00 3f 00 00 00 f1 7a a8 ae 00 00 0000464 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 * 0000496 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 55 aa 0000512
  8. Oh yes . Here is my information. I hope it helps. http://pastebin.com/6jwKTKcp
  9. I have just upgraded too 5b6a from 4.7 final and one of my disks is showing as MBR: unknown. It is a WD 500GB disk that I have been using in Unraid for some time. In fact it is the last 500gb disk I have as I am currently phasing them out. What I assume has happened is that the disk has been using in windows, as an operating system disk or something. Causing irregular entries to the MBR section. As I did not preclear the drive when I added it (8 months ago) as assume that MBR data is still there causing me problems now. What would be my next step? Looking forward to getting this running and enabling my addons and what-not again. Thanks a lot in advance!
  10. Thanks alot Joe! Silly me thought I had pressed everything!
  11. I might have missed it but where is the GUID in this version?
  12. Hi there. Sorry for not giving enough info. In windows when creating the link to the Thumbnails file from the windows pc to the Unraid share, it creates it but does not work afterwards. Says something about authentication. i assume its loggin in using the share user name and password. EDIT: Scrap that, its working now...just waiting to see it XBMC uses the new network folder for the images...
  13. Thanks for the tutorial! I have followed all the steps, however using the smlink it does not authenticate on the unraid server. Is there a way around this? I tried user:passwrod@ but thats as far as my knowlege goes Thanks
  14. Hi there! So I'm hoping someone can help me, have been having this problem for a while now and am out of ideas... I have the following folders: /user/TVShows/1/The Simpsons Family Guy and also the folder: /user/TVShows/The Simpsons Family Guy How do I merge the folders inside the subfolders into the main TVShows folder? I have been trying to use Windows but every time the server stops responding to commands and goes offline. So am looking for a different way of doing it... Thanks Appreciate all help.
  15. Helpful command! So, the server stopped responding when I tried to move some files in Windows 7. So I rebooted, telnet'd in ran that command and copied the files again and it stopped after about 3 files, server has stopped responding to on the admin page and telnet Here is what I captured in Terminal on my mac before the server died: http://pastebin.com/c3YhfDVX Thanks so much for the help. Im hoping that we are getting closer to the problem here
  16. I am still having the same problem with 4.6. When I create a system log it is only since the computer was booted...so how can I we see what it was doing when it stopped responding? It went down in the middle of the night, I wasn't moving anything. It was just downloading with SABNZBD. I have installed another 2GB of RAM so now it has 4GB. Latest syslog. http://pastebin.com/0gbFiD0f
  17. Oh dear, sorry for not posting all the spec. and thank you for the help. Its disk1 not the parity drive that is erroring, so will intconfig still work? Let me know if you want the full spec still. Thanks everyone
  18. I have found a few forum topics related to this but they seem to be with Gigabyte mobos and parity drives. Disk1 is now 4 bytes smaller after installing 4.7b1...
  19. http://pastebin.com/ZcyEYgV7 Stopped. Replacment disk is too small.
  20. I went down to version 4.6 and booted and it came online fine. After starting to move some files again in Windows7 it has crashed and gone offline. I will get the syslogs in the morning. Thank you very much for your help Jo!
  21. disk1 WDC_WD5000AAKS-0_WD-WCAS87854397 WDC_WD5000AAKS-0_WD-WCAS87854397 31°C 488,385,492 488,385,496 I have upgraded to 4.7b1 and now its saying that disk 1 is invalid... I haven't touched the disks...
  22. prostuff1: Its an Asus P5K Premium. Thank you for the reply and wisdom! Joe: Awesome stuff!! Just downloaded the new version will update ASAP and see how it goes. You recommend the beta version over the latest stable?
  23. It would work either way. DO NOT CHANGE THE JUMPER IF THE DRIVE IS CURRENTLY ASSIGNED TO THE ARRAY. Thanks for the info. What would happen if some idiot put the jumper on after running the drive in the array without it...? That idiot is me btw.
  24. But the cache drive has its own slot assignment at the bottom of the devices page....
  25. Yep what Lionel said. You could also create a backup copy of you sabnzbd folder, like, sabnzbd_backup Thats what I do until everything is running smoothly. Also, have you tried, sickbeard and couchpotato? Awesome software! Good luck with your setup!
