Please can someone lookat my diagnotic file and tell me what this means?
-
Seriously???
-
Apparently not many people are asking for wifi.

Edited the previous post.

I bought a Qnap TS-473A and it's great.
-
I don't want to. I just need to know how to.
-
Actually the Toshibas are very good and I would buy them again.

If my spinning hdd read and write speed max out at about 275MB/s when you transfer from PC to Unraid server would 5gb ethernet ports end to end be overkill?
-
For hdds is a controller with a 2.5gb ethernet enough? Or is 5gb better?

I only found the UK one and it was well hidden.

Wireless unraid?
-
I am not using a switch. How do I turn flow control on?
How do I run iperf?

Server bridging and onboard nic has been disabled already.
In the future I am planning to get a NUC 13 with a intel i226 nic.
-
From Unraid to PC speed is about 250MB/s but from PC to Unraid its about 130MB/s.
PC is a Nuc 12 with i225v nic with a 1tb nvme.
Server has a TP-LINK TX401 10Gbe (Aqauntia Atlantic) nic and Toshiba 20tb MG10 drives.
Both are connected to an Asus XT12 Pro mesh router 2.5gbe ports.
I am transferring a single 60GB video file to and from each device to test.
The server and pc nics are recognised and running at 2.5gbe.
I am assuming that the Nuc is fault but what can I do to resolve this?

Reconstruct write was always on.
I managed to write a lot longer than 30gb this time before the write speed crashed to 31.5MB/s. I will have to try another computer without the Intel NIC to see is this is the problem.
-
I got a new server and hdds and on ethernet I get 113MB/s and then after about 30GB of writing the speed drops to 31.5MB/s. I wait till its finshed and then I immediatelty write again and it starts at 31.5MB/s. I cancel it and then give it 10 seconds and then start again and it writes at 113MB/s. But sometimes it writes at 31.5. I unplug the ethernet cable on the NUC and then plug it back in and it works at 113.
I am using a Intel NUC with the i225-V maybe its throttling after 30GB?

I have a qnap 473 and I have added a tp link tx401 2.5gbe card but it's not recognised in unraid. I assume I have to disable the 1gbe ethernet ports but I have checked the bios and I cant find the settings to disable them. Does anyone know how to do this?
-
OK thanks.
Should I run New Config in the old server and then power down without assigning drives or move the drives to the new server and then run it?
-
I have 5 hdds but I will move down to 4 hdds once I moved the data off of the last hdd. I am also moving from a 5 bay down to a 4 bay server.
Once the data is moved can I click New Config in the 5 bay server and then discard the unwanted hdd and then put the remaining 4 hdds into the 4 bay and assign slots and start server?
-
Can someone tell me what the process is especially without proof of purchase?
-
1. Yep!
2. Damn it!
3. I know, but I got a really good deal on the 20tb and I sold my 18tb for a good price. And I will be moving from a 5 bay case to a 4 bay qnap case.
Is the upgrade procedure correct?
-
I am upgrading from 4 x 18tb to 4 x 20tb hdds. I am not running preclear on the new drives. (Should I run preclear on all drives?)
Is this procedure correct:
1) parity check
2) remove 18tb parity and insert 20tb parity
3) parity rebuild
4) parity check
5) remove 18tb hdd1
6) insert 20tb hdd1
7) data rebuild
remove 18tb hdd2
9) insert 20tb hdd2
10) and so on
Is this correct?
Is there anything I can do to make this faster?

Thanks. The exos hdd was trying to do a rebuild and it failed with 6 errors on the dashboard. The hdd was making some strange noises!! I replaced it with another exos hdd and it worked.
