Mine server is not hidden away. Wifi 6 is incredible and huge leap over wifi 5. I can write at 100MBps from my wifi 6 pc to my unraid server. (The router, server and pc are all in the same room though). When the pc is moved to a different floor, I get 77MBps.

There is a work around by plugging the server into a wifi extender but thats defeats the point and my new mobo will have wifi 6. I don't use VMs.

Will you add wifi support? Not ignoring.

Limetech, why are you ignoring requests for adding wifi to unraid?
-
Good idea.
But my proposed mobo will have wifi 6 built in. And in the future wifi 6 will be common place and even faster.

I don't think wireless game adapters come in wifi 6.What I don't get about this whole thread is that it's VERY easy and cheap to get wireless support for Unraid right now, no need to wait for OS support. Wireless game adapters are readily available, and easy to change and upgrade when wireless technology advances, instead of waiting for linux support to catch up.

Is that an assumption that they won't work or has it been tested?

I have a qnap 653a 6 bay and its about 13 litres in size. The lian-li is about 20 litres. I want something that is nearly as small as the qnap.
-
Small itx build with power supply internally. 6 x 16tb hdd. Horsham is good. I want something as small as the ds380 but smaller.

Is there a small 6 bay server?

I am using the server below and I will eventually be buying and preclearing 5 X 16tb Seagate Exos hdds. My current server uses Reiserfs and I want to migrate to XFS as I was told this is better filesystem.
Basically I can do this two ways:
1) Do it on the old server below hdd by hdd one at a time.
2) Or build a new server with xfs and transfer data from old reiserfs server to the new xfs server.
Which method is easier?

Maybe something that help people convert from zfs to xfs?

Intel i3 10100 or Pentium G6600?

I have been using Unraid for 10 years and so far my use for it for movies has never changed. I have had various builds and so far the Qnap 653A for Unraid has been my smallest. Its also the weakest in terms of hardware.
I do understand that my two proposed builds are very expensive for what I need Unraid to do. I have thought about getting another Qnap for Unraid but they are more expensive (TVS-672N is £1400!) and the Qnap 6 bay server cases are bigger than the 653A.
The AMD build will be approx £568 and the Intel build will be £657 approx. The ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming ITX/ax is about £215.

I would like to use the latest mobo. Which b550 itx is good and that has wifi 6? (wifi 6 will be a thing with unraid one day!)
-
I have edited my first post.

I want to upgrade from my Qnap TS-653A as the hardware is quite old now.
Any thoughts on these two builds? The AMD build is about £100 cheaper. I want to use the CPUs integrated graphics for basic checking if Unraid has loaded. I will be using this server for sending movie rips to my Zidoo player (no transcoding required). The mobo should have wifi 6 and as many sata ports as possible.

Still working tee-tee jorge?

Trick question!?!
-
Wifi support.
-
My wifi 6 router sends data at 100MBps plus. Wireless should definitely be added to Unraid.
-
Any opinions on this Mr Unraid?

Thanks. DWA that looks very nice! I was hoping to get a near up to date mobo.

Does that mean we stop asking for wifi support?
