  1. Hi All, I'm looking to upgrade my unraid server hardware with an Intel i5-8600K and also a GTX 1070. I would like to setup a gaming VM to pass through the 1070. I've been reading about CPU isolation but I'm having a hard time trying to figure out the best way to do this. i5-8600K has 6-cores so I'm thinking of isolating 4 of the cores to gaming VM and the other 2 cores for unraid/docker. I am currently using the following Docker containers: Plex - (1) local play constantly on. Direct Play. Sometimes 1-2 remote plays which would be transcoding. Remote plays are really hit or miss (share with friends) but I've never had more than 2 at the same time. Sonarr Radarr Nzbget Unifi Controller Letsencrypt/Duck DNS (reverse proxy) Ombi Plexpy Anyone have experience with a gaming VM using a 6-core processor and have a good recommendation for CPU isolation.
  2. Thanks Right now I plan on having the 210 in the primary PCIE slot and the 980 GTX in the second PCIE slot.
  3. Thank you for the explanation! At the time of testing yesterday I only had the 210 in there but did not have it connected to a monitor for output. I do plan to pick up a 980 GTX shorty and it sounds like I should just pop that into the 2nd PCIE slot and pass that through to the VM and I would not have to go through this procedure. Edit: Sorry I should explain that at this time I will only be using this VM with GPU passthrough for steam streaming to my laptop and Steam link so I dont need to pass it to a monitor. I should also mention that I recently updated to unraid 6.3.0.
  4. So I'm a bit confused here. I may have missed something here but in a VM that I have, in the GPU selection area of the GUI settings, I can pick my GeForce 210. When I fire up the VM and install nvidia drivers it shows the GeForce 210 in device manager. I assume that means it's working so what is the idea of doing these bios dumps and editing the XML file to point to that? Sorry if I missed something, I've been away from the community for awhile. Thanks
  5. Hello, Having an issue passing through the unraid USB and the onboard SATA controller at the same time. I have a Xenserver HVM with an unraid VM (5.0) I originally just passed through my onboard sata controller and then within Xencenter I attached the USB to the unraid VM. This works fine but if I want to upgrade my unraid license I need to pass the unraid USB through to the VM so I can get an ID. So I found the correct the USB controller and passed it through to the unraid VM. Load up the unraid webgui and the USB drive shows with an ID but no hard disks show up. I SSH into tower and do an fdisk -l and the only 2 that show up are the USB drive itself and the 100MB vhd from the VM. My 3 HDD disks do not show up. I reverted back to the old setup and everything works fine. Any idea why I cant passthrough both the USB controller and Onboard SATA controller at the same time? I've also tried to remove all passthrough and start from scratch and that didnt work either. Specs: Motherboard: MSI H87-G43 CPU: i5-4430 Memory: 32GB G.Skill Ripsaw DDR3 HDD: (1) 3TB WD (1) 1TB WD (1)1TB Samsung Thanks in advance
  6. Having some issues with simple features: Setup: unRAID stable 5.0 running on a VM on xenserver Simple Features 1.0.11 -I have copied simple features plugins to the /boot/plugins folder -Rebooted Server -Log shows every plugin installed successfully Problem: Every time I go to a simplefeatures webpage I get parse errors on the top of the page and most of the features don't work correctly. I have attached some screenshots and the unraid syslog. This is a fresh installation of unraid. Only 2 other plugin I have are plex and plexupdater. Any ideas? Did I miss something? syslog.txt
